Straightshooters muzzle brake--cross-threaded set screw. Stripped...

... the threads on the muzzle brake or I cross-threaded it.  Is there a fix for this?  I suppose I can glue the MB to the barrel, but that seems too permanent.

Three choices:

1) Rotate the muzzle break, then drill and tap for the set screws you have.

2) Drill original holes out larger and tap for the next size larger set screw.

3) Drill original holes out larger, insert HeliCoil spring for set screws you have.

I am a HUGE fan of HeliCoil stuff.  The kits are great, and you can get extra coils for your most common mistakes.

The answer to your questionable POI shifts and set screws that don't hold is JB weld or impact epoxy:

It's a permanent solution, and well worth it.  Welded all the brakes to my guns, and never looked back.
