I just bit the bullet on the Gary Goudy stocked R7 that has been on fleabay this summer. Seller said it is in good shooting condition. That works for me... I'm not a collector though I do have two San Rafael R7's now...
It will be interesting to see how much a well tuned R7 shooting comparison.
Also. the R7 incoming has scope mounts but, no scope... Are the Bug Busters decent scopes or do I need to save up a few bucks and get a lupy?
Somebody needs to do something to the fool swipping all of the front sights, doh...
That's about my favorite HW stock. I have 4 like it. They work perfect with medium height rings. One on an R7, one on an HW95L, one on an R9, and one that I bought used in VGC for my other Huntington Beach R7. These are Monte Carlo style. See the step? Goudy did not build stocks like this (Monte Carlo). His stocks were only available through Beeman. Weihrauch rejected Goudy's design.
This is a Goudy stock. Not a Monte Carlo it has a straight comb. As posted by another member
I'd sold one to my brother, who really shouldn't own a nice gun, a couple years ago. It was mint. He called me yesterday to say it wouldn't shoot. The grandkids had been shooting it. I told him to bring it over and I'd have a look.
I didn't recognize the gun. Stock was so scratched up and the action was very loose in the stock. He's clueless so it does no good to get mad at him.
Turns out the non shoot was a plugged barrel. the grandkid said he "may or may not" put extra pellets in it. I asked how many and he shrugged his shoulders.
Near as I can tell there were 12 pellets that were jammed in the barrel. Destroyed my barrel rod getting them out.
That's wild
I love the OLD Beeman R stocks, Very nice indeed. My personal fav is my 22 cal Beeman R-8 (Thank you Mr Bently) A little more robust than the R-7 plus it has the R type screw off end cap.
Perfect little rifle for the urban back yard. One has got to love the old Beeman r air rifles of yesterday.

One of my pre-safeties will be here Thursday... Pics soon.
Should be here soon... been waiting all day... This one is missing its fron sight as well... I'm just going to McGyver it...
...That's really sad. I had offered to pick up the gun at his home, not too far from me...pre safety R7 in nice condition can't be too common?...:(
There is a stock for sale on page four of the classifieds that might work with some minor work. Your forearm screw will also be too long I believe. I can trade for a short one. I need a long one for an older R7 stock I have that I want to fit to a newer R7 or H30
You are having no luck with R7's. I can hardly believe it. ?

Tell me about it... Ed has said he might be able to repair the stock. And, another option; an ebay seller that I bought parts from is going to be selling an ARH stock... I think I will keep broken gun... not many around, that I can find. Effing rabbits hole, lol...
It dates to the 1980-83 era. It (powerplant) looks to be in good shape. A little browning towards the end of the barrel in the "cocking" area. Has a solid thunk shot cycle... Maybe it's been tuned, looks like the screws have been turned. But no twang or metalic noises. Looks like the breech seal has been replaced.
If I could get the ARH stock I would be all over it. It will have more value than the dollar.
Well, I went to the local hardwre store and got some 2 Ton Epoxy... Slow set... And some low adhesive tape...
Glue the stock together and held it in place by hand for 10-15 minutes then wrapped it with blue tape... I'll let it set for a day.
@teleamp Ed K, fixed the stock on my HyScore 810M that I sent him (several years ago) to rebuild... it wasn't broke in half like your R7, but he did see a crack where it could have easily broke in two... he secured the crack together using a wood dowel.
You might want to consider doing that once the two pieces are secured together by the glue.
Together again and shooting good... Glad that I kept it... These old R7's are getting harder to find... This one is at least minute of pecan accurate... I'll send it to Ed for a tune soon... I feel it has previously been tuned for increased power...
@teleamp I hope the ebay seller gave you some sort of refund for the lousy job he did packaging it... I was tempted to buy it myself... looks like it found a good home !
Finally got to shoot ir some... It's accurate. and I'm sure it has been tuned... Hopefully I can find a properfront sight for it...
