Hey Ladies & Gentlemen who's shooting slugs and what are your results? I just tried some .25s out of my R1 Elephant gun and am pretty impressed. Will try to get more on the subject soon.

I've shot a few. They make quite a gooey mess! ? LOL

I have a couple H&N types in .22 but haven't tried them yet. Seems like the 'slug experience' is somewhat in its infancy. I've read only a few posts addressing them in springers with varying results it seems. Hopefully others will chime in. Good question Brian. ?

I'm like holy shit I can't believe it. Was maxed out on my rear sight and still 4in. high @ 20 yds. Moth balled it until a fella had some up for sale thinking it's time to try slugs. My initial thought was Matador 3.0 was going to be the recipient. Not so fast now, slow down a bit. Lets see what they do in a springer and low and behold i think I am on to something. I will be ordering .177 & .22s as soon as I get my mail sent. I know I know, you want some pics it's going to be a bit. Breath deep and hold for 10 sec. and remain calm.

I've only shot slugs out of one ram gun, an RX-1 in .177.  12.5gr. NSAs grouped 1/2" at 30 yards.  The barracudas won out at 1/4" at the same distance.

I might try it down the road, but I don't think your configuration will fare well.  My HW-80K in .25 shoots the AA fields the best so far:

https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-arms-field-25-cal-25-4-grains-domed-350ct?p=1065

and the gun in tuned at 20FPE.  The lightest slug you'd start with is 26.8gr. NSA.

I don't think you have many other options, other than the custom slug makers.  If you go up in weight the groups will only open up.  In other words, if the 26.8gr. slugs don't work, you'll have to wait until H&N or NSA make lighter slugs.  You will also loose a few FPE as a result of more surface area in contact with the rifling (already seen this with chrony numbers).  So you are probably looking at a 15FPE .25 springer if the 26.8 slugs work.

You can do better.

As for slugs, you need power to spare.  In this build, you don't have power to spare 3FPE.  Shoot 21-25gr. domes and be happy for what it is.
