Am I the only one that takes many shots to sight in a new scope. Once i get them zeroed in I can shoot really good with them. I was playing around with a reflex sight today and same thing. I'm shooting great with it now. I like that its very light weight but wore my arm out pumping my Benjamin

i always start with windage at a very short range and than elevation at again a short distance

once that is done find 20 yards and get your elevation and fine tune your windage if needed

I like to first find optic center of scope and then use adjustable rings to get close to POA at 15 yards.  This allows you to always "Hover" near your optic center for close and far shots. Usually 15yards and 45 yards have the same elevation knob setting.

Sight in with one shot.  If you have a rifle vice, secure your gun and fire one pellet at target.  Then, while the gun is still secured move your scope adjustments to the pellet hole.  It is now sighted in.

Bob, I've used that method for years, but it only works if the gun/pellet combination is accurate.

I've watched someone chasing holes because he was getting 2" groups at 15 yards.

This method could be OK with a PCP but not a springer/nitro piston.

@rich177 A reflex sight is similar to a red dot sight. It can be blurry if you have astigmatism. The one I got off Amazon is a Feyachi reflex sight, $24. It is small, lightweight and has 4 apertures, both red and green and has 3 brightness levels. It is visible in bright sunlight.

Thank you.  I have some red dot sights but never heard them called reflex sights before.

I have done the same for a long time.  It certainly gets you real close depending on what your are looking for.

reflex sight is generally an open air sighting screenthat the image is prjected on vs a closed tube/block that one looks through. either can have multiple dots ( dia.) or images ( cross hairs, circles, dots).
