I just picked up a very nice Aeon 6X24X50mm scope from here and wanted to get a side wheel. Pyramyd Air shows their 150mm model not available. They do show a 3.5" model but I wanted one larger I think. Anyone know what other side wheels might fit the Aeon scopes or am I wrong to want the 6" instead of the 3.5" wheel.
I have never used a scope with a side wheel so this is all new to me. Any help will be appreciated Thanks
Are you using the scope for bench-rest and/or field target or more for hunting? I’ve found the larger wheels are great for more static type events, benchrest, plinking, target shooting, field target, even hide based hunting... where you’re hunkered down for shots and resting.
I like the smaller wheels for hunting in the field. Where I run the risk of bumping a big side wheel around.
I just measured some of my side wheels, most come in at 4 inches. The larger ones are mostly “nautilus” style and for field target or have custom extensions.
also most of the wheels are relatively inexpensive, I would think for that scope you’d play no more than $40 for a replacement wheel.
Note to inventors, scope makers, hobbies machinists. Making a wheel within a wheel or “cams” or “hubs” as adapters for different scopes to use different wheels would probably be a good side biz.

You would be surprised the cost of custom machined side wheels with people charging $85 on up to $200 to make one for you, that is paying for their time and machining labor.
Much cheaper to buy the UTG side wheels and mod them to fit onto your other brand scopes which is very simple to do and gets the job done for cheap unless you insist on paying the money for a nice fancy custom made one. I have paid $85-$100 for my custom machined wheels before but that was before I realized that the UTG can be made to work which cost $15 instead. That was before I started buying the more affordabe UTG scopes. If you have the money to blow then by all means buy the custom made wheels, they are the nicest that money can buy and fit perfect specifically to your scope.
Thanks for your advice guys, my plan is for backyard plinking and shooting paper targets. I would not want to spend any more than necessary as I like to put my dollars into more rifles and pistols. A $15 item will suite me just fine. Years ago I loved new cars, nice boats etc. Now I want a car that is paid for and gets me from A to B with good mpg and low maintenance. I will look into getting a UGTG wheel, not sure what I will have to do to modify it but for the price I'll figure it out.
Again thanks and I am glad that this forum is here, I have learned so much and usually something from every post I read.
