Hi,

Thank you for joining this forum!

My name is Louis and I am a 36 year old veterinarian from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

At the moment I am writing a book about my favourite airgun brand, Sharp.

I love Japanese airguns in general, but Sharp has a special place in my heart.

Prewar BSA's, and John Bowkett designed pcp's, are another favourite of mine.

If any members would like to share Sharp related info/photos for my book, then I would be much obliged.

Cheers,

Louis

@jirushi Welcome. I have a little Japanese .22 Arrow break barrel and a .177 E.I.G 1353 co2. It's bolt action and one has to pull a knob on the back end of the receiver to cock it.

Thank you Tim_Ward! That is very interesting. Do you perhaps have a photo of the E.I.G., and if so, could you perhaps email it to me? (sharpairguns@gmail.com). I'd love to see it, it sounds nice and probably earlier than the Sharp CO2 models.

@jirushi I'm picture posting challenged. I think it's an age vs. tech problem. If you google ' japanese eig 1353 co2 rifle' you'll see an old ad from Baker air guns show several pics. of it. It's the gun I bought. Plus other pics and articles below that.

If one is curious about an old air gun, if Baker ever sold one you can google it and his old advert. often pops up.

Another EIG was shown at the AVA in 2010.  As the post observes, it sure seems to be identical to a Taiyo Juki Junior:

Thank you very much gents, and sorry for my late reply. I've just returned from a holiday in England.

The EIG 1353 looks exactly the same as the Taiyo Juki Junior, as Don R. indicates.

Perhaps it was rebranded. Taiyo Juki was a daughter company of Miroku.

@Airguntunes, that looks like a nice Innova!

Cheers, Louis
