Another question after the fact LOL

Anyone have any luck with one of these? I know there are other free and wonderful methods, just trying to save time I guess.

the only short coming i see is if you don't have a starting point, a flat spot on the gun

i guess you could mount a ring bottom for that point to start or assume your dovetail to weaver mount is sitting level with the gun

you can get clamp on rail bubbles and then you need a small bubble level for the scope, easy to find

Please bear in mind that any jig that establishes a reference against some surface on the gun is fundamentally flawed.  There is no guarantee it will yield a satisfactory result unless the gun is mechanically perfect and the scope rings perfectly center over the rail.

Refer to the discussion here for more info, plus a free and easy way to align a scope properly with nothing but a mirror.

@citizen-k

I like the concept of that one but I don't think it will work on round receivers.

nervoustrigger, that procedure makes the most sense. With just a little more effort, I'll save a few bucks and the scope will be better for it. Thank you.

I like the reticle alignment tool sold by Brownells.

The little "wedge" type is getting popular also but I havent tried it
