I made some grips and a pump handle for a Sheridan Model H from this very dense hardwood. Left unfinished, it weathered in to a really nice deep burgundy color. Beautiful stuff.
so are you trying to match the wood that is there, a picture close up, maybe go with a laminate in a color that you like

Actionwood is laminted birch in colors. The Boyds gun stocks are made from action wood. There is also Dymond wood. Both look the same. Don

I put a piece in my basket and my was $15.47 so it is a little high and I'm in Washington state
