Norma has entered the airgun pellets market (Available from June 2019).
Norma introduces a new category of airgun pellets Amotfors, Sweden. Welcome to the new world of Norma! Extending the dedication and highest quality to new product categories, we could not forget about airgun pellets. Norma has expanded its product range with a brand new airgun pellets line – 4 different pellets in cal. 4.5 mm and 5.5 mm to fulfil all of your needs!
In Norma we are continuously searching the way to provide the proper ammunition to hunters and sport shooters alike. As the market is changing, it is very important for us to evolve and be flexible without losing our heritage. In our search of the cutting-edge technologies and products for every category, we have developed different pellets with outstanding results in each field. Our new pellets fulfil all needs. With our own manufacturing process we control every step in the production line in order to warranty that every batch accomplish our standards.
The main features at a glance: • High quality pellets for competition, hunting, field target, training and plinking • Developed for different power platforms, from 7.5 joules to high powered airguns • Astonishing precision at distances up to 50 m (tests developed with Golden Trophy FT heavy)
The first two in the table look like they are trying to imitate JSB. Frankly it’s probably a smart play. The heads look more semi-dome than true dome so the BC may suffer as a result but I’ll keep an eye out and give them a try. Thanks for the heads up.
The .pdf says these pellets won't be out until June '19. To me, the only viable pellets out of the bunch are the FT Heavies. They look very similar to the Beeman Ram Jets that did not group well in many guns. The match pellets will be a hit if they are very consistent, but other manufacturers have nearly perfected this segment.
The biggest improvements will be in the hunter class. Do not know why they even spent the time developing a pointed pellet. Will wait and see how the early adopters review this product. If they as good as the Norma solids then these pellets will be all the rage in the field.
With permission from St. Nick, I ordered some...! (Remember, for me down here in Peru I need to order stuff half a year in advance in order to find someone who travels from the US to Peru.... ?).
The Golden Trophy FT Heavy. Rolls well off my tongue. I sure hope they roll (and fly) well through the air, their bulldog shape might be a little bit of a hinderance there for having a high BC. With 17.6gr my expectations are almost certainly way higher than reality.... ?
Well, come Christmas and I'll hopefully be able to report something, good or bad.
Ok...my Norma .22 cal pellets shipped today and should arrive this Sunday. I bought the 17.6 and 15.9 grain pellets. I'll be testing them with my AR6 DUK Hunting Master and maybe my Discovery .22.
Ordered from Midway a tin of all.177 & .22 FT offerings including the match in .177 -No superpoints! I've NEVER had luck with those. Pointed types are just a gimmick IMO. Shame there are no offerings in .20, but that's the 'Norm'.
The FT's look similar to the RWS Superdomes without the ribbed skirt. Hoping the .22's will do well in my hard hitting but picky, HW57. Currently the Superdomes seem to be all that it likes. Can't wait to try them. Someone mentioned a Beeman Ram Jet similarity but Ram Jets had a 'wiper' ring at the base of the dome -kind of like a ball in a cup.
RWS SD's
Norma FT's
Beeman Ram Jets
I'll weigh out and mic the Norma's to look for consistencies.
Got my order today from Midway. WTF? Both Norma and Midway are total clowns when it comes to pellets. No tape on the tins from Norma and no protection whatsoever from Midway.
I want to weigh and mic for consistency checking, but I'm hardly in the mood.
This was supposed to be under a new topic: "Norma Pellets / Midway Shipping Beware"
Apparently admin decided that it needs to go within this post, whereas I felt like the combination of manufacturer/distributor was cause for its own topic.
An US field target friend told me about them a while back after trying them for his springer and Field Target rifles with excellent results (tighter groups), but indicated that getting them unharmed during shipment from Midway was a lottery since ordered four tins, package was just a padded envelope, no tape on tins or additional protection, tins got nicely banged up and two arrived open and it’s pellets scattered inside the shipping envelope. The pellets did suffered damage on shipping process and had to sort and weight check to save about a third of a tin. The claim process thru carrier and/or Midway was not optimal and took a while. Sorry no pictures of damaged pellets.
With his experience decided not to order a tin, so he sent me about 20 of the .177 and my FT rifle loved them.
I’m located on Puerto Rico, and have been waiting for someone else to start selling them to buy some.
Haven’t found a second US source. Does anybody knows if someone else sells them nowadays?
Norma pellets just arrived. I'll test tomorrow and post back info. They came in a bag but lids were on and pellets were ok. The lids screw on same as H&N.
For some reason the Norma dealer locator page freezes up when select USA market. Tried different search engines but same result. Will place a test order and will see how they fare the shipments. Thanks

That is strange...I just tried the link I put up and this came up on my screen: (I picked it because it is nearest to me..100 mi._

Quite a bit late to this but I took a shot and ordered some from Midsouth Shooters Supply: https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/dept/shooting/airguns/pellets-and-bbs. No complaints from me and the pics show how they got packed. Well stuffed outer box, small mini UPS shipper box which was also well stuffed and the 6 tins I ordered were well wrapped in brown paper (about 10 layers by the time I unrolled it all). No damage, dents, dings or opened tins.
Now if the wind here will finally let up, I got both weights of domes. 1 of each in the .177 and 2 of each in the .22 caliber.
Not at all too late. Thanks for the tip. Just ordered 4 tins-.177 & .22 Golden Trophy's in both weights. Site says 7-10 business day delay currently, but I'm in no hurry.
Ordered mine on Nov 12th, they got here on the 21st from Tennessee to NY by UPS, so 9 days all together. Shipping was a bit up there at $13.49 but still not too bad considering what some places are charging.
So far in .177 caliber, the 9.1 grain Norma pellets are better than the 8.4 grain domed pellets when shot from my three springers - HW97K, TX200HC & LGU. They are mostly undersized less than 4.49mm but have very consistent weights within 0.1 grains. Air Arms, FX and JSB domed pellets do a lot better in accuracy. Will not buy these pellets again.
Good for you after all this time.. All I got was they look good in the tin. I hope you have better luck with them. I'll give you mine if yours work out for you.. Gratis.
I have one tin each in Golden Trophy FT Heavy 17.6 g .22 and Golden Trophy FT 15.9 g .22

Wow, crazyhorse, that's super nice of you!! ?
I'll post my results here. ?? Then we'll see. Hopefully some others will chime in about the Norma pellet's precision (or lack thereof...).
I also had a bad experience with Midway ordering Norma pellets.
I made the mistake of ordering two types of Norma pellets from Midway, the Golden Trophy FT and the Golden Trophy FT Heavy. Huge mistake to order them at the same time because they are identical except for the weight. Both tins were opened in shipping and I have 400 identical pellets except one is 15.9 grams and the other is 17.6 grams. Ok I cannot tell the difference holding them in my hand and I am certainly not going to weigh each one.
I am very disappointed since I wanted to test performance of each in a new air rifle.
Norma pellets don't ship well so do not order them with other similar-looking Norma pellets.
Beware of ordering Norma pellets. They open during shipping

Here is an update on the pellets.
I contacted Midway and simply told them what happened with the identical cans of different weight pellets and they promptly sent me a replacement can of each. Thanks Midway! ?
hrm it might be a good idea to look for a small scale to weight pellets though ?
