So..I am new to this site.  Recently came across an old Model 44/.177 Peacemaker.  It belonged to my wife's father.

I have cleaned it up...oiled it (mildly)....

It is missing Part Nos 44-019 (Powerlet Cover)...which I take is a common thing...

Can this handgun be used, without the missing cover?

Can these covers be purchased anywhere?

Thanks in advance...

Yes it can be used without the cover.  I am not sure about current avaiability of the part.  Welcome.

@bob_in_wv thank you for the quick response....

so...I just loaded a new powerlet into the chamber...tightened it down....and then as per the instructions...cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger....immediately the cartridge proceeded to completely drain the CO2   It would appear that either:

1. I did not have the powerlet properly seeded in the chamber, OR
2. There is a missing washer or seal...that would prevent such action

Any thoughts?

Thanks

@coachd917

They are not available. You can make one from some pvc pipe. Or just paint some co2 cartridges black. I do this for my SA6 and 45 bb
