I have just installed the new Rearden Metal spring from Galt Airguns in my XS25. I'm getting about 300 fps extra, over the factory spring, without any added cocking force! This thing is fantastic!

Besides the link, what caliber are we talking about here?  I easily-located the air rifle on the Flying Dragon site, but caliber availability isn't obvious to me.  That is, I see where it calls .22 caliber an "Option" on the page, but don't see .177 caliber mentioned at all as being available.

I can say it better than that: the 300 fps. velocity increase you got made me think you MUST be talking about .177 caliber--that would be a pretty massive increase for a .22 gun--but I don't see a .177 caliber version as even being available.  And, knowing which pellet you're talking about would also be useful information since it would provide a weight reference.

Thanks!

The Rearden Metal was invented by Henry Rearden of Rearden Steel. John Galt Airguns is a little hard to get in touch with, as he's somewhat off the grid.

That sure certainly sounds like defying the laws of physics! I wonder if it can be done to a FWB300s or R7/HW30?

Oops.  I didn't catch the Atlas reference, but, admittedly, I don't know every work by every author.  Still, how can someone like me with a pretty fair intellect and a heart of gold (ahem) forget this one particular day on the calendar almost EVERY year?  James Taylor told a story about dates at one of his concerts once, but I'm definitely not going there.

Unless your original spring was broken , I cannot understand or believe the 300 fps increase. Can you explain?

I didn't catch that and I watched the three part movie. I should have recognized John Galt on 04/01. ?

I have a pretty decent sense of humor so I'm good here.  Missed a reference or two but that's OK.  Not really an Ayn Rand but to each his own.

There was a guy on the Yellow one time claiming to get 800 fps out of an IZH60.  He talked about all kinds of custom stuff he had done to it but none of that stuff would increase velocity.  Then he mentioned the WD40 he squirted into the breech and the flame that shot out the barrel with each shot.
