I ordered one for gigs, since I really like the original model one on my HW30 (boys rifle actually), anywhoo smoking deal.  Free ship, no tax and 14% off with promo code holiday14.  That is around $160.78 to your door.  Great 3x9x40 with a very generous eye relief, and all kinds of parallax adjustment even down to 30', maybe less.  I don't do cheap scopes, but these won me over for springers.  New P3 model looks to be improved removing non- metallics such as scope caps, zoom ring on the rear.

These are really awesome scopes! I have one on my FWB124 and it's perfect for it. I let my Dad shoot it last year, and he had to have one for his squirrel hunting rimfire.

Seriously these things are really dang good glass, especially at this price. The reticle is great.

Thanks for the heads up bud!

Good find, Jason. I have one of the 1st gen EFRs on my HW50S and really like it. It's almost like that gun and scope were made for each other. Hope the new P3 model is as good as the original because I'd like to get one for my R9. I probably won't be able to take advantage of this deal tho, what with Christmas coming and the AG funds being a bit low after buying the R9. But I look forward to hearing what you think of the new model as compared to the original.

Well, I snapped some quick photos today (not the best but will give a good idea of), for those interested.  Hard to beat an ol 3x9x40 AO, and just like its predecessor, this scope is hard to beat.  Some quick observations, the rubber on the mag ring is now aluminum, so are the turret caps, which use to be plastic.  Also the gold lettering is gone.  Not disappointed and what a deal.

Oh and will add, the turrets are spring loaded and lift and turn, to set zero, very smoothly.

Here is the old model,

Thanks for the pics, Jason.

I never really had any issue with the turret caps on the 1st gen EFR being plastic but I do like the idea of them being aluminum now. Same with the mag ring, too. I also like that they've moved the numbers on the mag ring to face the shooter instead of being on the front side of the ring. That makes it a lot easier for the shooter to see them. And from what I can tell from your pics it looks like the glass is just as good as the 1st gen model, too. Looks nice and crisp around the edges. It's looking like Nikon has another winner in this new version of the EFR.

BTW, if I'm thinking of this right it looks like they've switched the elevation & windage adjustments to 1/4" @ 100yds (1/4 MOA) now instead of the 1/4" @ 50yds that the old version had. That should give airgun shooters a little more precision in the adjustments for the ranges we shoot.

Damn...You're making me want to order one of these! LOL

How does it compare to the Leupold VX EFR series 3-9x33AO older and current new line AO 3-9x EFR scopes?

I may not be much help, being an owner of many Leupolds including the "old" style pre tactical looking efr scope, I am a big fan of the Loopy's.  With that being said, the Nikon is plenty clear, and being a 40mm, this may make more sense.  The Nikon has a very generous eye relief as I don't find the box critical (like the Clearidge RM's)  I have been sold, as you can see what I picked when I needed another scope.  And for looks, the Nikon is as good or better in my opinion than the pictures I have seen of the freedom model.

I find it hard to beat a good ole 3x9x40mm.  All my shooting is normally at 6X power.  And the Nikon has ALOT of moa adjustment, and positive note, and as I recall without punching the numbers, maybe double that of the RM,

I agree 100% with Prairie Farmer.  The VX-II and VX2 series Leupold 3-9 EFR is the ultimate low-power AG scope in my opinion and I have them on most of my sporting rifles. I have a new style VX Freedom series and haven't gotten to shoot it yet outside of 10M in the basement, but so far the glass seems as good as the older style (although I far prefer the look and "feel" of the older style). The Nikon is not as good as the Leupy, but I think the value proposition is stronger - it's 90% of the scope for 60% of the price of a new Freedom series and looks a lot better to boot.  And the extra MOA adjustment on the Nikon comes in handy - I was easily able to get it sighted in on my FWB 124 with standard mounts without issue; I couldn't adjust a leupy high enough without a drooper mount.
