On Monday I ordered a HW35E in stainless look in .177 caliber from AoA and today it arrived and is beautiful and shoot great. I also have one in blue and .22 caliber and both are running neck and neck with my 4 HW30S rifles as my favorite as I can easily cock both single handed. And being left handed the barrel release on the HW35E is second nature to me as I cock it with my left hand. Just wondering what others think of this great rifle? Charles
Congrats! Nothing more fun than unpacking a new air gun!
I’m ready to pull the trigger on the 35e and would be interested in your opinion on the .177 vs .22 and the stainless vs blue finish.
Thanks!
jeff
As soon as I have a few more shoot outs I'll share, however for what each caliber is I like them both as the .177 shoots a little flatter , but the .22 seems to knock down my metal targets with a greater response which I like. It may be a true touch up as which is better. Charles
Congrats Charles! But be careful, all this fun you're having is bound to be illegal somewhere! 😆 🤣
I have an HW35K in .177 and really enjoy it. I love the classic design and long history of the HW35. And as a lefty myself, I was thrilled to be able to pick up an older factory left-hand walnut Luxus stock for it from a fellow forum member. BTW, my 35K also came from a forum member, lol.
Although I'm left-handed, I cock my break barrels with my right. So when I cock the 35 I slide my right thumb under the barrel and release the barrel latch and then slide my hand toward the muzzle to cock it. Doing it that way works good for me. 😉
Enjoy that shiny new HW35E!
@jim_in_swmo Having a Fresh Tuned HW35E.22 and HW 30S .177 & New HW30 Urban Pro.22 can Only Say It doesn't get Better Than These Fine Shooting German Rifles > Yes .177 or .22 You win ! Enjoy and Post some Pictures !
She got a Hawke 4x32 AO mounted today and boy after sighting in I never missed a target, of course it was only at about 12 yards, but fun just the same. Loving the HW35E as I shoot it more and more. Charles
Finally pulled the trigger on a new .177 HW35E. Beautiful gun - gonna be a favorite! Shooting 12.5 fpe out of the box which surprised me. Has the usual spring buzz that most of my new HW’s have had. Ordered an ARH kit and looking forward to smoothing it out. Have a spare Leupold 3-9x32 EFR ready to go!
@flycaster I have a HW35 E.22 and had it fully Tuned by Steve at Ponoma Air guns ! Better than ever needed it tuned since mainspring broke ! Also installed HW factory slip on Suppressor and it took the Bark down and now sounds more like my HW30S Urban Pro ! Most people will say Suppressors don’t make much difference on a Springer but maybe because of longer Barrel on the 35E it really works! I shoot mostly indoors so now I can shoot my 35E .22 more often! Enjoy your HW 35 E !
Very fine airgun for sure and the lockup is so solid. I think I've satisfied my addiction for at least 6 months!
I agree with you on the moderator - I recently purchased the HW98 screw on from AOA and it definitely takes the "snap" out of the shot.
Happy shooting!
