I have a LG 110 hp laying around, and was thinking a bench rest gun. Right now the gun is set up with a .177 barrel. Converting it back to 22 is no problem. The scope is what I need help on. There is a sightron SIII on my Thomas that I like a lot, but can't do that kind of money right now. I have been looking at the Falcon T50. Is this a good choice, or is there something else I should be looking at for about the same money. Any help would be appreciated.

 Thanks Tom

Try a Mueller 8-32X44 target dot.  For less than $250, you can't beat them.  I have three of them as well as three Sightron SIII scopes.  Obviously the Sightrons are far better, but I have a Mueller on my FWB 300S and it does amazingly well.  I also shot BR with a TM1000 for a couple of years with a Mueller.

@paul-in-zhills I don't think 32X is enough magnification  power to shoot at 20yds

@marflow

Most every scope I've looked thru at max power, gets a little fuzzy around the edges. Even my Sightron at 50x.

Tom;

If you are planning on serious BR shooting, then you should contemplate this scope:

https://sightronusa.com/product/sii36x42brd/

There is a reason why a design that is almost 20 years old is still on the SIGHTRON lineup: It works.

It's light, so that you can put the weight where you can really use it (depending on your style of shooting it could be either the stock weights, a rail for your rest,  or  a beefier barrel (with frame modifications).

36X is enough and not too much. Shooting with both eyes open (one on target, the peripheral vision of the other on the wind flags) is possible, at 50X you may have problems adapting to this.

You will set your parallax where it is least liable to create problems: at the Objective lens. And you do not need to "rangefind" with the focus, so the head bobbing technique is far more useful and the two turns AO is NOT a problem.

And you can buy it for about $400 SO not that expensive.

Just my $0.02

Keep well  and shoot straight!
