Sorry Tom. No help can be found here as we all have the same problem. I would hide my credit cards and don't hang around here. your addiction will only get worse as time pass. you have been warned but hang in there.
A few years ago I was at a rifle silhouette match and I made the comment to a friend, "if I come home with another rifle my wife will shoot me." He asked if my wife ever goes into my gun safe to which I replied "no". He responded with "Next time you go shooting, simply leave the house with an empty rifle case. She'll never know you come home with a new gun."
....you do know there's all kinds of parts you can buy for that "Lego"2240.....? 😮
Yep. Main reason for buying it.
Like I said in my opening post, Been lurking on a few forums, reading and taking notes..
Thinking these 3 shooters will put me in a good close, medium, distant range of shooting.
Right now, I have the Prod sighted for 30 yards, could go further though.
I can shoot out to 50-60 yards, but that's starting to get into the woods behind the house. Could get iffy on hitting target.
That's where a rifle would be the better choice as far as distance/accuracy goes.
The 2240 will be a side-arm for recovery of targets if 2nd shoot is needed.
But,,, there is no saying "I won't mod it". We all know where that leads.
But it will get it's share of target practice use.
I wanted to do some plinking today, but winds in the 30-40 MPH said no. I need to get some shooting done during windy days, but just wasn't feeling it today.
Hell, the birds weren't even liking the wind that much. Didn't see all that many on the feeders today. Not like there is on less windy days.

Well as long as you like modding a gun a little, here's how to make that Prod into a shooter. Sorry. ? ?
Both guns arrived this past Wednesday, and yeah,,, she is not to happy about them. Oh well, it was my money.
Hoping to get them unboxed, cleaned, charged, loaded and shooting this weekend.
Trying to decide on which scope I have here to try on the Gauntlet. I have a few to choose from, but thinking I may swap out what is on the P-rod and mount that scope on the Gauntlet, as it is more suited to a rifle vs. pistol. I picked up a cheap reflex sight awhile back, and have been wanting to try it out. Guess now is the time.
Honey..... at least you know where the money went, and it keeps me at content and at home. But if you rather I spend it on boys night out, drinking, and hooker- lap-dances I could redirect the cash flow.

Now,,,, I could be a "Happy Camper" with the latter part of that........................
Whilst doing the morning chores, I happened to stroll thru Walmart's sporting goods. Lo and behold, there was a scope just about perfect for the P-rod. An Axeon 1X30 RGB Dot sight. Basically unlimited eye relief, 3 color dot of various intensity. Under $40.00.
Got back home and did some swap/mount of optics.
Happy with the Axeon on the P-rod. The CP 4-16x50 AO that was on the P-rod is now on the Gauntlet, and looks to at home there.
No pellets down range yet, maybe tomorrow. I just spent today's free time unboxing, inspecting, cleaning, optics mounting, yada, yada..
Looking forward to doing some paper punching, maybe a few"live targets" also.
Tom, best mod I did to my 2240 was a steel breech! I've seen a lot of groupings fired by the gun stock from other people (I never fired mine before mods) but common sense and practical use tells me that the accuracy improved dramatically from the ability of the breech to hold onto the barrel shot after shot consistently. For your application of the 2240 I'd get a steel breech from crosman (ebay?), and if you have to do more, then a tad longer barrel, perhaps a LW barrel depending but not needed. Just with those mods your gun should be shooting much tighter groups and will probably get used a lot more. Mine amazes me all the time, again today I was shooting same hole groups at 10 yards and doing good out to 50. I've got that cp scope you have on my 2240, because I have to use an adapter it sits really high up though, I wish it had more dots because I've got a pretty flat trajectory out to 50 yards with my long a** barrel so I don't get to use them too much.
I am curious what your prod groupings will be, please update when you can! I've had my eye on that gun.
Dan Wesson, I literally LOLed! I do that same thing! Or only have out 1 synthetic stock at a time so it appears I only have one synthetic stock gun. It gets complicated when I want to take out several to shoot in one day but I make it happen. Today I was only down 1.
Kind of a "gag gift".....a car glove compartment fitting f small box.case...inside a small spray can of "bobbie glitter remover" and other can of "lap-dance-skid-mark- remover"...an herbal (don't want to get in trouble with the FDA) hangover cure, breath mints....and a fake Doctor's excuse for being home late (can use a Phd's name rather than an MD's...wife probably won't spot the difference).
Stupid as it seems....be you could sell in the 7 figures.
Can then donate some $$ to whatever old-folks home my wife has stuffed me into by that time.,,,maybe the'll let me have a beer every other NFL Sunday.
----------------
Go home from work early,,,dig out ALL you're wife's shoes....lie them up in a row down the hall...and ask her again, "Why is another airgun excessive?".

It was on my "get it" list to do a steel breech if/when I bought a 2240. Just didn't add it to the shopping list at the time.
Anyways,,, steel breech is here. And I definitely think I need to get it swapped on so I can mount some kind of optics. These old eyes don't do open sights at all. Can't see them, especially in shade/cloud cover.
Did,, drop a cartridge in it and sent a few pellets down range though. Not B-Y-F at all, so work needs to be done in that department.
As to grouping of the Prod, it does good, real good.
Couldn't recall last time of paper punching as to group size, so shot some today.
Wind was to be from the West, 5-8 mph, which would have it at my back.
Instead, it was 8-10+ from the North.
Still manged to get a good grouping of 6 out of 8 (one mag) in under a quarter sized group. This is at 30 yards.
The two outside ones were caused by me. Bad posture on one, and an icicle crashing onto the deck,(3 feet from me), as I was pulling the trigger for the other.
Shooting CPHP 14.3, she seems to like them. Have various other pellets to try yet. Just don't have the time to do so.
In my opinion, if you are wanting a Prod, "Get One". You won't be disappointed.
Was wanting a PCP, just wasn't keen on the price of them, until the Gauntlet was announced. But delays in release caused me to spend money on the Prod. Bought it bundled with a Benjamin pump, added my own scope choice afterwards. Can't see the price of the Woodswalker edition of the Prod, just due to scope and camo.
Once I had a scope on the Prod, and took the 1st few shots with it, I was a very "Happy Camper".
I've modded it some, CV-life bi-pod, Hill 5.5 LDC, collapsible stock. Bstailley mod is here waiting to be installed. More in the thought processor also.
Haven't aired up the Gauntlet yet. Yong Heng compressor is in route as of 3-9.
