First off, a huge shout out to AoA. I had ordered the HW30S Deluxe in .177cal. They contacted me because they had none in stock and offered me the laminate at no extra charge. Of course I said yes. Kinda glad I did. I had a little help opening the box. I can't wait to shoot it. I need to take it outside for better pics in the natural light. IAs an owner of several spring piston air rifles, including 3 RWS models I wanted to break into the other German maker. Was looking at something in .25 but decided to start with the smaller model and caliber thinking what a great little air rifle to introduce my children to shooting springers.

I think you'll enjoy it. While it's true that sometimes you'll read a post saying someone likes another brand/model a little bit more (like a TX200 over an HW97), pretty much everyone seems to like them to at least some extent. The Rekord trigger alone is one reason in some cases.
I think all the varieties the HW laminated stocks come in look good. I think the tan and brown is my favorite, then perhaps the blue and gray they offer at times. I seem to remember the latter colored version on the HW97 more than on any of their other rifles.
Yours is also nice. What do we call that, "gray and black"? I don't know. In any case the lams offer something different than 'the same old thing' (that's overstated--I like a nice wood grain stock in brown, too, the darker the better when it comes to my personal taste). Of course, as I say that, I realize that anything other than authentic or 'regular' stained wood grain won't be some peoples' cup of tea.
Here are more pics for anyone who wants to do a little more drooling.
Have fun!
Congrats on the new 30S! I think you're gonna like it. The combination of it's accuracy, easy cocking, and great trigger make it hard to put down once you start shooting with it. As I said in another thread recently, I'm not generally a fan of laminate stocks but I like these gray ones that HW puts on these. And that rosewood grip cap is a nice touch, too. The only downside to the 30S is that the cocking lever on some is prone to galling/rubbing on the receiver tube. But it's an easy fix if it does.
I've had mine (standard beech stock) going on 4½ years now and my only regret is not getting one sooner. It's still factory stock inside and shoots great with just the slightest hint of spring noise. But it's not bad enough to make me open it up and put in the JM kit I've got for it. But I did have to put in a piece of JM's cocking lever insert to keep it from rubbing.
BTW, if you've got some of the 7.33gr Air Arms Falcons or JSB RS be sure to give them a try. A lot of these little HWs seem to really like them.
Oh, and be warned. The HW30S is a gateway to other HWs. I started with the 30S and now have 3 other HWs to go with it. ?

I almost posted the same comment, but didn't want to start any trouble by being 'an enabler' and resisted. But, since the cat is now officially out of the bag, let it be known that I second the motion. And, um, the HW95 is sure a nice rifle.
Lol....That it is. But in my case it came in the form of an R9. ?
That is awesome! Congratulations on your new toy.
Try some JSB 7.3 and AA 7.87 gr pellets in that 30. Usually one or the other seems to work well for many. Also the AA Falcons (7.87) seem do be another winner.
If you want cheap tin can plinker pellets (for the kids to use), the Winchester round nose pellets from Tractor Supply stores (if local) have been a decent plinker for cheap ($5/500 ct tin).
I don't need another R7 (HW30s) I don't need another R7 (HW30s) I don't need another R7 (HW30s)

"Sweet Surrender" as written by David Gates, or "There Ain't No Cure For Love" by Leonard Cohen. I'm also a music fan, and it's just how my brain works.

You are weak, and have no self control, I knew you would buckle and get one of your own! LMAO ?
How’s the HW50 doing for ya? Is it a keeper?
Can’t wait to see the “something in laminate”
"The force (of airgun addiction) within you strong it is."
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Probably early to mid next week and I gotta stay off the forum! Many many friends had stated this same thing! I REALLY believe airgun forums are REALLY meant to push the sale of airguns!!!
It is like going to alcoholics anonymous and then watching all the old beer commercials!

Well, that just shows you there are worse kinds of trouble a guy can get himself into than buying air guns.
