I know from experience that cheap equipment is junk, but is there a reasonably priced reasonably accurate crony out there?
If you need numbers in FPS then just buy a Caldwell:
They sell them used all the time. Mine was bought used, and works perfectly.
Only been about 9months and I usually don’t really trust stuff until it’s been around longer….tried the same cheap unit as Doug Wall did. Figured I just blew my $27 (then price).
Surprised me….within 1% of a big unit, hasn’t missed a reading even in dark.
It’s found a place for me….just too easy NOT to have to set up lights at night or worry about a full set up.
Doesn’t show any signs of a problem, but being cheapo, I kind of expect to crap out.
Dave Cole, Sunny San, thank you for your posts! I saw both of those devices online and I figured they were cheap bogus money wasters. Especially the one Dave Cole posted about. All I need is a rough estimate of my pellet speed, and the gun shops and rifle ranges in my area just laughed at me for asking about using their cronies. I'm going to get that cheap little Chinese one!

Dave,
Thanks for posting that. I just ordered one for my brother, Bryan. His birthday is on the 26th.
