Just acquired a Hammerli AR20 FT.  Looks like a nice gun but I know almost nothing about it. Looking for any info that would make me more informed.

It came with a scope rail, what looks like a 300bar adapter and owners manual that is basically good for showing you how to adjust the trigger.

I don't know how to fill it or where to get the fittings. Cylinder come off so I assume I need a couple adaptors. Where to purchase?

Any good, bad, ugly info you want to share would be appreciated. Searched as many old threads as I could, looks like people machine off the top of the silver cover to free float the barrel. Maybe a quick fill adaptor is available form someone to cut down on unscrewing the air cylinder??

Maintenance things to look for after shooting it??

Is this thing still made or imported?

Thanks in advance for the info

Jerry

Jerry,

You need this adapter from Pyramyd Air. DIN300 to QD male. $50.00

https://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Air_Venturi_Long_300_DIN_Female_Fitting_Male_Quick_Disconnect/2700

If you have a DIN300 fitting on your air tank, you can screw it in directly.

You do not use the bleed valve at all. You screw it in, fill it to 200 or even up to 300 BAR (4350 PSI) and unscrew it rapidly. The plunger valve will close when you unscrew it.

You can also purchase an cylinder modified with a probe fill system below. Walther Dominator uses the same exact cylinder. $250

https://www.pcptunes.com/walther-airgun-mods-and-spares/walther-dominator-1250-air-tube-cylinder-with-quick-fill-adapter.html

AR20 is a 10M air rifle with a 15J (11 FPE) regulator. The only adjustment you can do to make it go faster is the transfer port screw between the barrel and cylinder hidden away underneath the fore-end cover.

Very little maintenance is required besides cleaning the barrel but I do not think it needs cleaning since it does not go above 800 fps.

Free floating the barrel will eliminate the point of impact shifts since the barrel is not free floated. Standing, kneeling and sitting position put different amounts of pressure on the barrel - bending it slightly.

They still make the 10M air rifle version and is the one of the most affordable options for beginners.

Walther does not make the FT version anymore but the Walther rep at the Pyramyd Air Cup mentioned they had 10 left in their US Warehouse and are selling them for $700.

Regards,

Leo

Info was covered in the other post pretty well, but I'll say that I enjoy my AR20FT.  I've spruced it up a little bit with some bits carved out of an old Richards stock that I had and it looks pretty good, I think.

The AR20 is a lot of fun and the AP20 even more so IMO. I sold the AR20 when I decided to stick to pistols for a while.

Nice Mods Rob
