I have not posted on the forum since, ell since the switch. No reason other than travel for my job has me out on Sunday and back late Friday night. I enjoy my work and if that allows me to enjoy the weekends with family then will make the most of it.

About a year ago I purchased a 2 owner AAS410 bolt action in .22. Had the orginal box and OM etc. Great deal when bought it  - so much so that when a AAS410 carbine in .22 showed up for sale on the forum I jumped on it.

Well that little carbine gets most of my limited shooting time, so I found myself with an extra AAS410! Two weeks back I posted a WTT (want to trade) on the new forum here and with a hour I had an email requesting a call.

Here is the pics of the AAS410 in its case....

And from the other side....

The "spots" in the pics are the result of storage in the foam where I have wiped other rifles down with RemOil. Residue on the foam. Here is the breech as I got it ready for packing...

Sold it with the fill probe it came with and two magazines plus some pellets.

It was a great rifle and a power house. I had it serviced by Steve @ Pomona Airguns. A fresh reseal and guage plus a trigger tune. Just did not shoot it much anymore. So after just that one call and a follow up text the next day I agreed to ship in trade for a Sumatra 2500 in .25. All boxed up and ready for a trip to IL...

Priority mail got it from AL on a Saturday delivered to IL on Monday for under $40! That is a sweet deal.

I came home Monday (happened to be in the office that day and had to travel Tuesday through Friday of that week) this is what I found in the living room:

Trying to be proactive I had found a little something for sale made just for that 2500! So now I was invested shipping costs plus the add on.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for a .20 cal and also a sucker for a lever action gun. It survived its trip very well and a carefull unboxing yielded this on my work bench:

I had bought an assortment of pellets from PA that had arrived in time for the unboxing as well as two extra magazines. So with three magazines in tow and plenty of lead I was ready for mounting some glass. The trade also included two unopened tins of Kodiak heavy pellets and some 45 grains Nelson slugs. Nice!

I looked around in the scrap bag and found a UTG 1 pc medium height mount. It fit the scope rail just fine on the Sumatra. I took ahold of a ZOS 10-40X60 Y recticle scope and mounted it up!

The rifle is heavy as is so why not add a little more weight with that scope and mount combo! Full view of the left side:

This is my first Sumatra 2500 so I had only seen pics of the receiver panels. Some like them and some do not. I was very pleased with the finish on the two sides. It shoots as good as it looks. View from the right side....

Step back to take it all in....

So far I have only had one day to actually shoot it - well more like about three hours before I had to head out for the road again. A short learning curve with the very heavy trigger and I was smacking targets with authority. I am currently filling to 185 BAR and getting 5 six shot magazines before topping back off again. No drop in POI. I have a nitrogen set up so filling is easy.

I am about 200 shots down range - looking forward to this coming weekend to shoot it some more. In the mean time from the road I can always post a thread so you too can enjoy the trade that this forum made!

~GOD BLESS~

John: Nicely done. Good story and great pics. I had a Sumatra 2500 .25, sold it, regretted it. The Sumatra (in my opinion) is very underappreciated. I will have another one some day. ?

Thank you for your kind comments. In reading it today I noticed some spelling issues. Hah! almost 50 years old and can not spell....

I am excited about the rifle. Have some different springs to lighten the trigger a bit. Will probably shoot as is until I feel ready to tackle the inside.....

~GOD BLESS~
