This has been in a tube for 15 years.  Shipped to me on 9.14.04.  To my surprise it was one of those fancy ones.  16" OAL.  Looks like you install these on 2K+ springers, such as this one:

Seems like a sleeve was installed over the barrel, as I can see the crown about 1" from the exit hole.  Wonder if they shoot better than standard barrels.  Guess there is only one way to find out.

I seem to remember the TK barrels came in some versions that looked different from one another.  I've only seen photos, never any in-person.  I do like the looks of the one you have there.

If there was ever a reason to soft-clean an air gun bore, or at least use ultra-delicate methods to clean, that has got to be it.  With the actual crown recessed like you describe, it would be a headache or worse trying to figure out how to do it as I see it.

I had Air Arms PE's here twice for a tune.  I seem to remember they also had a recessed barrel/crown.  It's been awhile.  I do remember that the rifles came out shooting well.  They were very-well made, but seem to remember that AA probably discontinued them because they were too hard to sell to the mostly-non-FAC markets.  They fit in just fine in the US, though.

If it fits an R9 and you want to get rid of it, let me know.
