This is one of those guns that I seen in the Blue Book a long time ago and really wanted one, but knew the odds were very slim of that happening.
The chance came a few years back and I managed to get this one!
The valve o rings were bad and I just got them replaced. Gun now holds and shoots well.
The original sights are non adjustable, so a scope was mounted. Can't wait to try this out this weekend!
Not up on the PCP world, I do have several, any way what is a JBC Monkey gun and why is it called that
I like it / Looks like a single pellet load, maybe upload some more pictures of it
@mike-ellingsworth I have no idea why it's referred to as a "Monkey Gun" that's just how it's listed in the Blue Book..
JBC is the maker of the gun, they were built in the Philippines...
It's a single shot too, with a rather large loading ramp, making it easy to load.
I've had a chance to shoot it since the original post was made.
It only gets 5 shots per fill! And it's bulk fill co2. You'll definitely need to carry the small 4oz bottle if using this in the field.
I didn't get a chance to use it with a chronograph, so no idea of the power of the gun, but I can say the valve on the gun is rather large!
The stock is what Makes it so interesting to me , I always liked seeing stocks like that I have one in multi color laminate that was on a FX Tarantula that Is amazing
with the low shot count and made in the Philippines it just very well could of been made to dispatch monkeys
seeing videos on you tube watching monkeys everywhere.
MY self I would sell it and cash in the for its value and use the money to buy something I wanted
It's cool but not practical for air gun use as we enjoy , being you have to fill it so often, even for hunting, I bet it has a little more weight then other rifles in its size, I could be wrong. just my thoughts
Or maybe its the opposite maybe its just to cool and its just a usable fun keeper , you never know until its you using it LOL
@colt1900
That is off the hook ,WOW talk about a airgun it's just so cool to see the picture of it.
is that a wishcombe made rifle what is that, maybe a Lewis & Clark special lol
@mike-ellingsworth it was built by Joseph Schembor around 1830.
Operates just like the Lewis and Clark rifle.
The original tank is on the gun in the photo, which has a low charge of air... but I do have a new one that was made for the gun that gets fully charged when shooting the gun.
@colt1900
I saved the picture , that is inspiring, the craftsmanship & design makes me appreciate the wood & steel air rifles I love springers & pcp
@mike-ellingsworth
You might like this too.
Crappy video really, but here it is being fired.
A friend was filming it, and it'll give you whiplash... lol
@colt1900
Thanks for sharing that , I thought the gun would be heavy but I can see now that it is built for usability its slender
very very cool also hearing the mechanics of it during cocking & loading
Thanks again man I enjoyed watching that looks like your were 55 to 60 yds to the target board
