What is status of these? Was import restricted? Current value estimate? I have one that I am considering selling. I see on Ebay for $749. Ridiculous.
as of 2001, IZH ( Izhevsky Mekhancheskiy Zavod) became a part of Kalashnikov Concern (KC), which is a 51% Russian Government owned company through its high tech "arm" Rostec.
Airguns are a very small part of their output as KC, but still the rest of the company is heavily involved in arming a number of official and para-official armies.
As such, it is in the list of those entities under US Economic Sanctions.
It does not matter who you purchase from, importing the gun into the US is illegal.
Therefore, if you own a pre-sanctions airgun, the supply is limited and limited availability creates scarcity which is what drives prices up.
I've seen them listed for a little over $400 and all the way up to $800.
This is a fairly recent ad:

If the gun shoots well, IMHO, $400 is a find.

the prices on Ebay are for people that have deep pockets or uninformed
Krale still sells them and i think they would ship one and at 457.++ it is a fair price but of course there would be shipping
as stated 400.00 would be a steal but 475.00 to 550.00 is a fair price at this time
it you have the factory box and item that came with it it makes it a better package
Gun Broker or Ebay would be the place to sell it, just let them fight over it
this is the completed sales on Ebay it will answer many of your questions on pricing

Just to be clear: Rostec is selling Kalashnikovs to people with whom our boys in the armed forces are shooting it out in different parts of the world, LITERALLY.
IF, knowing that, you still think buying an airgun from them is a good action, it's up to you.
On the practical side, IF you buy one from Krale (or any other source, the guys in Slovenia have better prices on these), and you try to import it to the US, you run the risk of having it stopped at customs.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!

well Hector we meet again
i'm not buy a damn thing
i was pointing out were to get information that's all
and for you to say that a Russian air pistol has anything to do with wars is outrages
you are saying that everyone that own a Russian air gun is what ??????????????????????
does that make all Turkish gun bad because they have a dictator run there country or all Chinese guns bad because that have concentration camps and make military weapons for all that wants them to kill who knows who
you stay away from me and i will do the same but your logic is upside down
The IZH 46 guns were a great buy when we could get them for $225, but at today's price not so much.
Thanks to all for your input.
@hector-j-medina-g
As usual, a knowledgeable and informative explanation of the situation with IZH 46 pistol. I knew they were no longer imported and now the story which makes perfect sense to me. Thank you.
Rick Bassett
I'm glad not everyone thinks my logic is upside down, LOL!
Thanks, Rick!
@hector-j-medina-g only your interrogatory punctuations
ROFL!
Just a habit from Romance Languages, where you use a interrogatory sign to open, and another to close, the actual question.
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

Hector,
Smiles are cheap and the more we share them, the more dear they become. Glad to oblige. ?
