someone had a question on there IZH 46m rear sight and i got mine that was in it's factory box and took a look but what i found was a surprise
there was rust on the under side of the sight, a bit of a haze
so i removed the grips and the sight and then the sight blade---the screws come out clockwise--and there was rust between the sight blade and the blade mount frame
i have never had it off and the gun is brand new in condition
i could not see the rust from the top of the pistol or the sides
so this was factory contamination of some sort
i cleaned it up soaked it in Break Free, had to reblue the back of the blade and all seems fine
i did find that that lateral spring loaded chisel point pin that gives you tension for elevation was sticking also
don't know if this is one time case or there could be other out there
but if you own a 46m take a look see, i hate rust
so just some info and observations
