So back in August I posted here that I was not happy with the new TX200 I had purchased and was pondering selling it. I stepped up and bought the Walnut long barrel version MKIII from Craig @ SS.
Beautiful Rifle, just not happy with how it shot out of the box and with time on the road so frequent I felt I did not have time to tune it as I have tuned my .177 MKI.
The general consensus here on this forum was not to take a bath on it with a quick sale and to keep a hold of it. I upped the stakes a bit by contacting David Slade @ Airgunwerks in TN. A few calls and emails later and it was shipped off to him.
A Master tune and a trigger tune plus a little time and it was back in my hands. What a different rifle!
I threw a cheap UTG medium 1 piece mount on and got to shooting. I LOVED the difference. I tried the 16 grain JSBs and some Air Arm Falcons @ 14.3 grains. Then I found the 5.52 Air Arms Diabolo field heavy did very well.
The 1 piece mount held on good and I had enough clearance for my scope, however, the eye alignment was off with my cheek weld as I find the combs to be high on the TX.
S I ordered three BKL high mounts. Thought it would look different. A single strap, one double strap and one tripple strap.
Here is a comparison between the two mounts:
Now I must shoot this thing! More to come. Currently posting this from the DFW airport stuck overnight due to rain delays!
~GOD BLESS~
