Not really, but close enough for gov'ment work.

I don't shoot my .50 Quackenbush PCP pistol much, and was depressed the last time I dragged it out (months ago) to find it leaking audibly through the exhaust valve (through the barrel with the bolt closed). Shot and dry-fired it several times at that time in hopes of it self-healing, then charged it all the way and cocked the hammer before putting it away with fingers crossed.

With todays rain, thought it a good day to tear into the great unknown (.50 DAQ). Removed the pistol scope mounted in Weaver/Pic mounts, before thinking to check if the gun had retained any pressure. BLAM! Glad I took it outside before dry-firing it!

So I re-mounted the scope to the gun, having left the scope clamped in the Pic mounts. Shot 10 rounds, full-pop, no leak... and no change in point-of-impact!

My hope that fully charging the gun before putting it away on the chance the valve-seat material would re-mate well enough to solve the leak apparently actually worked exactly as I'd hoped. WOOHOO; I'll drink to that!

Nice when it happens that way!   I passed a few times on a big pistol from DAQ when I've been to various shows and I always kick myself saying I'll grab one the next time.  Next time didnt come last couple of shows so I continue to kick myself.

Like the scope you have on that... any details?

Sure Rob, I'll let you know when/if I decide to part with it.  ?

No BS, that is a very unique and rare Bushnell Centurion LER pistol scope.

Unique how? It's a 1.3X (like vintage Bushnell Phantom pistol scopes) with a screw-on mag-booster (to 2.5X, like other Bushnell Phantoms).

Rare? Yes... because that feature isn't really as practical in use as it sounds, because adding or removing the booster changes the point-of-impact a bit.  So I leave the booster (to 2.5X) attached all the time.
