Anyone ever shoot one of these (Formerly Theoben) rammers? Can't find any info in the Blue book on it. Are they worth anything?
I’d check the UK forums. Mainly sold there, I read a few reviews when they came out but can’t remember all the details, I think they didn’t last long as a company.
Thanks. I've read what I believe to most of the info available, perhaps not. This one is in the US and is set at 17.5fpe, in .20. It also has the long OEM air stripper. Just trying to figure out what it may be worth in the states. Yeah, Impact didn't last long at all. I believe the only remnant of Theoben is Rapid Air Weapons (RAW) with Martin Rutherford at the wheel and Dave Slade as the US importer.
They are worth a good buck. Depending on condition, etc I've recently seen them in the $1000 range and higher. The RM100 is a re-branded Evolution; only with a much nicer lump of wood. The 100X was a re-branded Crusader. They are rare because not many were ever made. Many people feel they are better(overall quality, performance, stock) but I believe that the Impact guns were at least equal to the original Theobens. I just bought one (RM100 in .20) from David Slade and here's a photo:

That makes my OP moot. LOL You got the one I was referring to. Gun felt nice in handling as well. I loved the stock. Congrats! ?
Edit: Maybe that is a different one. I could have swore Dave said the one I was looking at was the reincarnated Crusader (X). Maybe we misunderstood each other as I was looking at several of his guns and got lost in the confusion. I'll find out next week.

That was true for a time. Impact does business from the original Theoben premises and some ex Theoben staff in the UK and though no longer making Impact airguns from scratch ( a short lived venture), they are still around servicing old UK Theobens and some small parts manufacturing to sustain that servicing.
@citizen-k
Good to know. That info may come in handy next week.
Thanks

I wrote David today to get that clarified. He said it was an RM100 but in an earlier email talked about it being the Crusader. But isn't the Crusader the same as the Evolution just pumped up a little more to provide great power? I'm going to find out one way or the other. Thanks for your comments.
isn't the Crusader the same as the Evolution
Good question. Yeah, we'll figure it out. Sonny may already know as well. I do know that Dave has an Evo with moderator but seemed uncertain about selling that one, not that I showed much interest...
The Evo and Crusader are two different rifles. The Evo is much smaller and designed as a 12fpe rifle. The Crusader is a big, long rifle designed for 20 fpe. They share a trigger and the HE system but are made for different markets.
Theoben was brought down by a lot of issues while Martin (an owner) was in the US setting up RAW as the US distributor for Theoben. He ended up building and sending rifles back to England - instead of the other way around. Anyway, Theoben went down the tubes in England.
Impact was built from the ashes of Theoben by some of the same people who likely caused the fire. They built and gathered up enough parts to build rifles for a year or so. The even made copies of Martin's HM rifles as he had left the design work (basically enhanced Rapids) in England. All the rifles were nicely made as these folk were already familiar with them. They are the same quality as any other Theoben - just a different name. Anyone lucky enough to own one should be very happy.
Good to know that they are a parts source.
Enjoy that fine rifle!

Many thanks for the well wishes. I should receive the RM100 very soon. David Slade worked his magic on the trigger and lowered the power output just a bit for me whilst still maintaining a good shot cycle. Some people tell me that there were only 50 RM100's imported tot he States. I believe mine is #36 but I'll see for sure after I get it unpacked. Several people have seen the gun and have indicated that it is quite nice so I'm excited to get it in my hands soon. Based on what David has indicated to me the RM100 That I'm getting is a rebranded Crusader and very much different to the rebranded Evo as you have indicated. I'm still learning about the Theoben history and I'm sure that there is some misinformation out there - would like to see a thorough wrote-up.
Regards,
Bill
Got my RM100 a few days ago. Purchased from David Slade who also did a trigger tune. Beautiful airgun. Cocking requires a man (no wimps need apply ?). It's hardly been fired so I hope the lockup/breaking action eases a bit. Cocking is so smooth as well as the shot cycle overall. Surprised at how light and maneuverable it is. Metal work and stock are gorgeous. Will add a Dampa mount and 3X9 Leupold EFR. Serial number 000033
