I have choices for airguns which one?

You don't mention if you have a fill set up. If you go with the Gauntlet. That could be a big deciding factor. I have a Freedom and it is more accurate than I would have initially thought. Just to mess you up I just bought a Hatsan Flash. I have not shot a Gauntlet but have been very pleased with the trigger and accuracy of the Flash.

The Freedom can be tethered with a probe for target shooting but the probe hole is in a really odd spot under the pump handle. I don't shoot it much more than 10 shots before pumping it again so punching paper could get tiresome using only the on board pump. It is back yard friendly and I did a few additional easy noise reduction mods to it as well.

I will add a positive endorsement also for the Hatsan Flash. For $300 it is a steal. Very pleased with accuracy (mine is .22, using JSB 15.89). I zeroed at 65 yards, 3/4" pattern after some 50 shots. Trigger is very good, gun very light, backyard friendly. ? 

I will be using a foot pump for a while till I can get a compressor. OH yeah I use to be heavy into the airgun thing. That was until I bitten hard my the beach metal detecting thing. I had some every nice guns too many to list. But unfortunately my beach detecting hobby is or will be done for a while because of beach renourishment which kills this hobby. So I will be slowly getting into the airgun hobby. I been scanning Youtube checking out what's out there. I like the Nova Freedom because I use to have a FX Independence so that's why I mentioned that rifle. I like the Umarex Gauntlet because the fact it is regulated. Its going to cost me a lot of $$$$$ to get back into this hobby!!!! I got Benjamin hand pump cheap found it at a local pawn shop for $40!!!!

I have both. I've had my umarex for about 6 months it shoots as the video on you tube. as for quite there about the same. the groups on targets. the freedom wins hands down. I got the freedom 3 days ago. I shot it yesterday at twenty five yards used 18. 1 jsb I pumped it to 3000 psi first 2 shots were about 738 fps touching, the next two were close to 800 fps about 3/8" higher touching, . when I got down to 2200 psi it was shooting 848 to 851 by shooting 1 pellet then pumping 5 pumps between shots. rarely was it more than 1/4" group. for about 50 shots. I just got back today shooting it at 50 yards keeping it 2000-to 2100 psi it was shooting between 838 fps and 846, I shot 14 five shot groups, worst group at fifty yards was 1" best was about 3/8 most of the groups were 1/2 to 5/8 I was amazed that it shot that many small groups. by pumping between shots it shoots as a regulated gun. and I can't believe how easy it is to pump. I have some nice and higher dollar guns that are more accurate and some high dollar guns that aren't. this gun can shoot more 1/2" than not at fifty yards. the gauntlet is a very good buy, and shoots good. the freedom shoots very good and about 33% more power and is self contained air. and by pumping 5 between shots I think  it is dryer air than most filtered compressors being so few pumps required not building any heat.

I too would like to learn more about the Nova Freedom.  I've never owned a pcp, but I've shot plenty.  This gun intrigues me because I wouldn't need a tank or filling apparatus.   Having seen all the videos, if I were to buy one, I would opt for a .177, and mostly shoot on low power.  I'm not interested in high power, and favor consistency over ultimate FPS/FPE.  My questions are these: 1) How does it deal with moisture accumulation, or is that even a concern?  and 2): How many actual pumps does it take to say bring it up from 2000 psi to 3500 psi?

It's about 40 pumps to bring it back up to pressure if you shoot a full magazine. I normally pump it back up before getting that low. Also I found mine shot better around 1800-2000 psi. I think it may have had some slight hammer lock at the higher pressure.

After shooting it more I'd still give it a high recommendation. Accuracy is very acceptable and low noise level. I'd rather pump it than a hand pump.

don't know much about either gun you mention choosing...i do know a proper compressor will "Lighten the load" dramatically...
