The HW50 .177 arrived about a week later than expected thanks to COVID but that gave me time to turn two sets of guides and fine tune the JM Turkish walnut stock. The gun was manufactured sometime early 2018 and came with a not so good looking fishtail type of factory stock. The metal work is very good with no exterior finish problems and the barrel is marked USA. The compression tube had the usual clean up needed to a minor degree. The trigger is excellent . I installed the JM spring and piston seal along with a push fit Delrin guide and top hat and Delrin top hat washer. I built a nice six chamber mod for it and it works well with no snap or pop producing a nondescript sound at the muzzle. The action was mated to the JM stock with a comb height that is correct for scope use. The stock shoulders well and shoots well off the bench or free hand for my six feet plus height. The barrel is 15 mm OD and produces a slight harmonic that I plan to address with a mid barrel tuner at a later date. As of now the accuracy is excellent with groups averaging 3/8" to a nice tight 1/4" or fat one hole .177 at 25 yards from a bench , no bs. The gun rivals my Air Arms Pro Elite that is a 1/4" or less .177 group shooter at 32 yards at 17 ft/lb and that gun weighs nearly 11 pounds , the 50 is much lighter I have not weighed it but it is noticeably lighter almost a little to light if you like a more substantial gun. I plan on a chrono session after a tin of pellets has gone through it so numbers will need to come later but a quick 5 shots after assembly put it in the 795 to 800 fps range with JSB 7.86 - 7.9 pellet. All in all with what has been done I would say it is a very nice mid weight / power springer that is accurate and fun to shoot and that is what it is all about for me.

Doug.
