I took mine off. Six inches of moderator only nets 20 fps. Only noisy when shot on empty.

The HW44 moderator mount is very weak and you may have bumped it out of alignment. If yours is a US market gun with the tamper-proof screws it will be difficult to straighten out. The end of the moderator just screws off so first remove the end cap completely and see if that corrects the issue and go from there.
I removed the mod from mine with no intent to put it back on. The gun is a little noisy without it but I don't shoot anywhere that is a problem, and with the mod installed the gun will not be legal for Pistol Field Target due to barrel length.
