Hotair thanks for the heads-up!

I didn’t order that specific one but in the course of checking prices on the other Athlon scopes I picked up the used  6-24x50 sold by Amazon.

I was getting ready to plunk down for a new one and you save me some serious cash!

thanks!!

I've not used a first focal plane scope. Looked through them on the showroom but that's it. I like the idea of the zero not changing with magnification adjustment. I know that hurt me at a Field Target event when I was adjusting the magnification all over and not compensating for it. I'd used my sons Amazon account and he called me after seeing the activity asking why I'd bought a shit scope. ?  Funny how you acclimate to prices. Several years ago I would have shit thinking I'd spent so much on a scope. Today it's like, "well at that price it's a tester." ?

They are difficult to see the fine reticle at the lower magnification levels so an illuminated reticle is a must have IMHO with FFP scopes. Some of my buddies just start at 10x since they have trouble acquiring the reticles at lower magnification. I don't have any problem with a SFP reticle if the scope has reliable (JAPAN) repeatable turrets for clicking because I can click for each shot IE SWFA, BUSHNELL, WEAVER etc (JAPAN ETC.).
