I know it's just a cheap $40 Hatsan refurb and 99.9% of you will have no interest but I like to tinker. I know they sell a Vortex gas ram version in Europe so I got an itch to try this. Same reason I stuck a Vortex gas ram in an older Webley Valuemax .20 caliber only they never made one that way...lol.
The gun, while looking a lot like a tricked out Hatsan Edge, has more than a few differences. New stock design, new trigger, new shrouded barrel. Guess I'll find out what else when I get inside.
While I am curious why you'd think a new trigger pack is needed, there's nothing wrong with the one I took out of the rifle. The only crud on it is the small bit on the lower sear which can easily be cleaned. Some light polishing where needed and re-lubed and it's good to go again. It's also not a sealed unit and should be fairly easy to take apart.
That very large hole in the top right is for the very large cross pin that holds everything inside the receiver. Trigger pack appears to work fairly similar to a Diana 34 (which I also have) except for no center rod in the piston. When you stick the action in a spring compressor and pop the pin, the entire trigger pack slides out the back of the receiver.
Just me but I'd think since there's already a gas rammed version in Europe, the gas ram just slides in in place of the spring/spring guide/top hat assembly.
Mike Ellingsworth is the guy to go to for any Hatsan information. He is a awesome guy and always willing to pass knowledgeable around.
