Not long ago, I "pulled the trigger" on the purchase of a big-bore springer.
Actually, I ordered two .30-caliber Hatsan 130S breakbarrel gas-rams.
I really didn't want a gas-ram powerplant.
However, Hatsan 135 and 130 springers are not to be found in the USA.
As such, I had little or no choice other than a Hatsan 125 springer.
And, I already own a .25-caliber Hatsan 125 springer.
So, gas-ram it is for now.
But, I've learned Hatsan gas-rams can be converted to springers with relative ease.

Hatsan Model 130S | Packaging

Why two? ... Pyramyd Air had priced the 130S at one-hundred dollars less than the a 135.
Making these bigger-bore .30-caliber gas-rams irresistible to me.

Moreover, the 130S is lighter than a 125 or wood stock 135.
Has a synthetic stock ... which I prefer for a field gun.
The over-all-length of the 130S is shorter than a 125 and 135.
And most importantly to me, the synthetic stock 130S has a shorter length-of-pull.

Both of these gas-rams will be converted to springers.
And, will be capable of being switched back-and-forth from springer configuration to gas-ram mode.
Mike will be rebuilding the OEM gas-rams for improved reliability and better performance via higher fill-pressure.

Hatsan Model 130S | Vortek Main Spring

Initially, the propulsion spring will not be of stock diameter.
Vortek sells a direct replacement spring for the Hatsan 135/Webley Patriot.
The spring wire is .142 in diameter with 44-coil.
Vortek will provide a .148 diameter wire spring and will consist of 43-coils.
I'm hoping this will result in a minimum performance of at least 600-fps and no-less-than 35-fpe with lighter 44.75 gr pellets.

Currently, these breakbarrels are in the hands of Mike Ellingsworth for tuning and modification.

However, one rifle has been returned to Pyramyd Air for exchange.
As Mike determined the bore-to-pellet fit was unacceptably oversized for light pellets such as the JSB Exact Domed 44.75 gr.
The following video involves my 130S.

New Air Gun Fail !

Furthermore, Mike convinced-me an aftermarket replacement barrel might be in-order to ensure exceptional accuracy.
I concurred ... to this end, one rifle will be rebarreled.
The rebarreled 130S will have an optic mounted.
The telescopic sight will be a low-power bow scope for short-range purposes.

The other rifle (the one having the best pellet-to-bore fit) with the OEM barrel and QE-shroud will be used with open-sights, reflex sight or red-dot.
And, will be primarily used for very close-range use.

By the way, this is not my first Hatsan air rifle.

@a_o_martinez

That 0.148 wire came with 43 coils but was taken  down to the correct coil count 👍

Here's my two MOD 130S.
I've had them for a while.
But, I've been unable to shoot them ... had surgery on both eyes.
Accordingly, my physical activity has been restricted to not lifting more than 7lbs.
Needless-to-say, the cocking effort was well-outside my temporary limitations.

The top 130S has a custom barrel with the OEM moderator shroud discarded.
This rifle will be have a telescopic sight mounted.

While the lower rifle will be devoted for very short-range shots with iron sights or maybe a red-dot.

Please disregard this first / new member post.  I hope this message fulfills the moderators "anti spam" forum requirements.   No other purpose intended.

I like your "pulled the trigger"  post.   I read to oversize bore / loose fit pellet to bore.

I am attempting to follow the posted rules for "one post" related to PM blocking.

My apologies if I offend, I did not see a "new member" forum etc. for a test run post or message.
