I have purchased 2 of these rifles. I couldn't get either of them to group at 40 yds. I tried different scopes that worked good on other rifles. I tried several pellets. The best group I could get was 2" at 40 yds. The only thing I didn't do was clean the barrels. I have lost my cleaning rod. Could this be a dirty barrel problem?
Thanks
Carlos
Don't know if it's the same rifle or not, but I bought a couple of the Varmints and one shot 1 inch groups at 25 yards with Crosman 14.3's while the other shot 3 inch groups at the same distance. Cleaning the barrel never seemed to make any difference. Gave the good one to my son in law and kept the other, thinking too it was probably the scope. Nope, tried that - FAIL. Put it in the corner for a few weeks. Was messing around with it the other day trying several pellets and the best it will do is 2 inches at 25 yards with Air Arms 16's. I bought both of these from Midway on clearance for about $60 each, so my expectations were not high. Both guns shot within 5 fps of each other with the 15.9 JSBs (675 fps). One was just much more accurate. I've got several PCPs, but wanted a piston rifle that would be a handy possum/raccoon gun. It fits the bill out to 20 yards just fine. My RWS springers can flat out mop the floor with the Benjamin, but they are much more expensive too.
