Guns of our youth.
For most of us the Red Ryder was our first airgun. today we examine and shoot a vintage Red Ryder made in 1954 or 1955. Always a fun little gun to shoot. I will be shooting it from 25 feet on paper. ,
Love to know how many pounds of BB's I shot through them old Daisy's when I was a boy. When they slowed down you could put a few drops of oil in them and they would shoot good as new, no matter how many "million" times you had shot them.
I think the year was 1964, my dad took me to a sporting goods store and asked for the most accurate bb gun the guy had. The proprietor handed me the Daisy model 99. I was like Ralphie in the Christmas Story. I use to be able to hit plastic poker chips on edge at 15 feet. That model was the official boy scout gun at their shoots.
Wish I still had it.
