Gun safe/cabinet dehumidifier

I found these at Aldi a couple of days ago, and thought it might be an idea for keeping humidity down in gun cabinets or safes.

It has indicating silica gel in it, and is supposed to be for up to 333cubic ft. (9.4 cu m). There is a little window in the front so that you can see the indicating gel color change. When it's full, you plug it in, in a well ventilated area overnight, and it will heat itself up to recharge (haven't tried that yet). There appear to be other brands that are similar.

I've been using them for quite a few years. They seem to work just fine as long as you recycle/dry them regularly.

It would be interesting to see the difference in weight before and after... Is this safe air tight?
