How much experience with break barrels do you have?
I've only had one Gamo for short time (I sighted it in for a buddy). I wasn't terribly impressed. A lot of folks don't like them, some do. Clean the barrel with a pull-through, try different pellets and see how it shoots. Stay away from the light PBA pellets, try JSB, H&N, RWS or Crosman Premier brands. The bundled scopes that come with the gun are often poor quality. Start close in with the iron sights (if it has them) and see if it wants to group well. if it looks good go ahead and mount the scope and see how that goes. The double recoil (forward and backward) can cause the mounts to slide rearward or the scope to slide in the rings, which can make you crazy till you figure it out.
Good luck and shoot safely,
John
How much experience? Much!
I've resealed a number of them, worked on a few triggers. Straightened a few barrels. But never had a Gamo to tinker with.
Understand the trigger may be iffy, but there's a screw mod for it.
Is it a scope killer? Haven't heard.
Thanks.
@matchstickshooter I have a gamo magnum 22. The only scope it hasn’t killed was the one that came with it. I bought it a couple years ago along with a hatsan 25cal break by barrel. Once I bought a pcp I literally haven’t shot them
