I just got my first PCP, an FX Crown in 25 with a 380mm barrel. It came from Utah Airguns with the reg set a hair above 160 bar. This seems pretty high. I’m not sure if this is normal or if Utah Air cranked it up before shipping it.

Ideally I’d like to be shooting 25.39 grainers at 585 FPS.

With the HS power wheel at max and transfer port low, it was shooting 500 FPS. I tinkered with a bunch of combinations of settings and couldn’t achieve the my desired velocity. With the transfer port at medium or high the velocity would jump to at least 630 with the HS at 0.

So I decreased the reg pressure to 135 bar and to my surprise the velocity climbed with the medium and high transfer port settings. And lowered to 450 at the low port setting.

How can I get my desired velocity? And how can I tune for the lowest possible ES and SD? Thanks!

@forrest drop your reg down to 90 -100bar or even lower. No reason to has it set to 135bar, way to high for what you want. I run my 30cal crown at 135bar pushing 45gr at 880.

@chris_oldfield thank you for the suggestion. If my HS turned up to work properly at 160 bar it will need to be lowered, correct? Not just by turning the wheel but by taking the gun apart and backing out the screw?

I would put the hammer spring adjuster on about 5. Adjust the reg down to the speed your trying to achieve.  I would do this with transfer port on med or high. Owner manual shows you how to adjust reg.
