My FWB just came in the mail.  Worked fine when it was shipped. However, now it cocks just fine, but when I pull the trigger nothing happens.  Gun remains cocked.  Is this maybe a simple fix or does it need to be sent for repair?  Open for suggestions of good air gun smith.

my first thought is turn the trigger screws out a half turn to start

TenP Files Feinwerkbau Model 300 - Pilkington Competition (pilkguns.com)

fwb300manual.pdf (pilkguns.com)

but of course, it could be something else

be aware the trigger carrier for the FWB 300 is not available if broken

@marflow Thanks so much...& thanks for the Pilkington list.

In the meantime....tapped lightly on the action & the gun fired.  Since then, there has been no trouble with the gun firing after being cocked.  Also, have tried tapping on the action and bumping the butt after it is cocked and  the gun remains cocked just fine without going off.  Looks like it is going to work just o.k..

i would take the stock of and see if there is any dirt or something in there

if dirty some low compress air to clean out

even though it is working something caused it

sometime people will over oil or spray an airgun and all it will do is help collect dust and bits

a little grease on some parts is OK but not to drown like a PB

David Slade at airwerks.com.  He did a FWB and a Beeman Original 6, one of the Diana Giss system pistols for me.   Fantastic work.

+1 on Dave. Good guy. Great work. Trained in the UK in the 80s - trained with Beeman in th 90s - and has been serving the public for 25 years.

That is not a valid website.

Do you mean airgunwerks.com?

@airmojo , thanks, but no thanks. I contacted David about an easy job and I got a curt "no thanks" with a BS excuse for turning down the work. I can already tell our personalities won't jive and there's no point in wasting each others time.

Since then I've had conversations with others who have used words such as "dry" and "abrasive" when describing him. I got no time for dealing with a self righteous dick.

@hkshooter Understood... I haven't used him for any work, so I do not have any first hand experience with him... just know that he has a pretty good reputation.

I did contact him once about the exact size of a breech seal o-ring for a Whiscombe air rifle, that he is suppose to provide service for... but he pretty much blew me off and told me to contact Pilkington airguns... that I thought was pretty lame.

I ended up figuring it out myself since Pilkington was of no help either.

Ive used David Slade and Pilkington for most of my repairs with no problems. But, I usually have sent the gun in with a note of what I THINK the problem is.  I'm told up front with the repair will cost and usually get it back in a very timely matter.

The 300s is a great rifle! Perhaps something got knocked in the shipping and knocked back into place when you tapped it, but id strongly recommend taking it out of the stock to see if anything is noticeably loose. also check the anti bear trap ratchet - these can break if the rifle has had a fault and accidentally discharged.

I have a 300s i am restoring, got it for a good price, but has a cracked compression tube and snapped ratchet..

They are so well made and engineered that any fault you experience you have to consider if there is something wrong or something has come loose that needs to be put back into place.

If you are going to send it to someone for inspection then you may as well get the seals replaced at the same time - they go hard over time. It will come back to you ready to shoot well for another decade or 2..

Yes, meant airgunwerks.com.  Personally I would go on reputation of quality of work, not personallity.
