Seems like a good time to remember the original forum, now that it's officially dead. I bought a few cheap guns from James, and a few pretty remarkable cheap scopes. I know things change, and time marches on. Hats off to the guy who started the original Yellow.

I even got to talk to James on the phone once. He was hoping I could do some mass-quantity tuning for him--as in 'by the crate' type of quantities, but unfortunately that's not how I was set up to do business so we couldn't reach an agreement. I would have liked to have accommodated him, though, especially after I heard how things had been going pretty rough for him. I still do them just one at a time, I don't have mass-quantity output ability, as I try to give each one some attention different from the last one got if that's what it needs.
Thanks for remembering James and how this all got started. Wouldn't he just scratch his head in disbelief if he could read all this info about these new-fangled PCP things that everyone has now!
I started the American Airguns website back in 1995 primarily because I got my first Internet ready computer and started searching the web for airgun sites and there were none. So I decided to start my own site and the American Airguns site went live in late October of 1995. After about three or four months the Airgun Letter started the first airgun forum on the web.
The Airgun Letter lasted a good while but got to be too much work for the Gaylords and they shut it down. That was when James stepped up and started the Yellow forum and the rest is history. I communicated with James over the years in dealing with issues with our sites and he was alway a great guy. He spent a lot of his personal time running the site and his efforts proved to be a huge benefit to the airgun community.
I also bought my first B 19 .177 from James. Still have it and its a good shooter. I think back then, we still had dial-up internet AOL. Time flies when you're having fun.
Not to be "that guy" (Mr. Brown noser), but I think that Steve and the mods should get some equal props for keeping the Yellow going, and allowing it to grow into this new Fun and engaging platform.
I'm still getting the used to the new forum, but I am glad it's alive and well. I have been here now for at least a decade. And, although I am not an original member from way back when, I do have some invested time here.
I find the forum as much fun as shooting, sometimes more. I sometimes lurk around at the other forums, but I am a proud member here.

It was Brad Troyer who brought me back into airguns with his review of the Air Arms Pro Target. I lusted for one for years and ended up with an EV2 and a whole lot of other airguns. Check out Brad's extensive and excellent airgun reviews via the link on his Classifieds page. Thanks, Brad!
Bought from James as well -- and found the Yellow Forum via Fun Supply.
I sometimes look at other forums but it was the yellow that got me started way back. Unless I somehow manage to increase my fee time significantly, I will remain active here only. I was a heavy poster when I first got into it at like 16-17yo. Those b-18 and 19s sure were popular there for a while...around the same time as the maxzbulk craze on 2240. Nowadays its pcp conversions and pcp products.
