In this installment, I showcase my brand new Thomas FT air rifle, and Mike N's recent improvements upon it.  I also show some 35 yard groups with my 1720T, shot with my Target Tech 15 grain slugs.  Also, a special website announcement of sampler packs available in the future. Hope you all enjoy.

Sampler packs of your .177 slugs?

Yeah, that's sounds like something I should buy!

THANKS!  ?

Tom,

what you are doing is amazing.

Others have offered a wide variety of slugs in .22 and .25.

But you are giving us a huge variety in .177!  AWESOME!

? I still remember this one guy from one of the forums, he was from Illinois, I think — the state with one of the most illogical airgun legislation — anything .22 and bigger is considered a firearm, requiring a license, and allows very restricted use only.

So he was desperately trying to find slugs in .177, even intending to build an airgun just around the H&N Piledriver in .177. Poor guy.... ?

➔ Now, you come on the scene and change the picture from ground up!

THANKS, Tom!  ?

? So, to get this straight, your sampler pack has 40 slugs for each weight — 11,  13,  15,  17,  19,  21gr.

For me that's a good amount to run a few tests. ✔️

And you offer two types of noses/tips in the sampler pack:  2S Flat Nose and 2S Hollow Point.

Both with a Flat Base.

? But you really offer any combination of tips, bases, and weights...!!

▪Diameter = .1775"

▪Point = solid point or hollow point

▪Nose = 1/2 ogive, 3/4 ogive, 2S ogive

▪Base = hollow,  cup,  flat,  rebated boat tail

▪Any weight from 10 grains up

➔ That gives 24 possible combinations for just one weight. ??

And 240 combinations just considering the full weights in grain from 10gr to 20gr...! ?

This means most of us will find something that our gun shoots well, I think!

Very very cool.

I'll be anticipating April 1 when you said these become available (or whenever we get done with the Covid-19 affair).

And I'm sure it won't be an April Fools Day joke. ??

Thanks, Tom.

Matthias

Matthias,

You are 100% correct in all the information above.

Keep in mind, that the 2S hollowpoint pack, is separate than the 2S solid point pack, they are not combined in one.

The sampler packs will be available on April 1st (target date, give or take a day), and the info above is correct as well.

These sampler packs are some of the better performers of those 240 or so combinations, and even at that, I have not tested them all myself,  much less make them.

Down the road, I will have another nose shape, along with a dish base punch coming as well.

Glad you and some others are excited about this project,  I know I am.

Stay tuned, stay safe, shoot often and straight.
