Anyone have one of these ? I would like to know your opinions on their effectiveness as well as durability. Not here to cause discontent or promote one more than another. Just curious.

Hi Mitch, Steve in NC. made a few different styles of debouncers, depending on which gun they were to be used in. As far as I know, they all picked up some additional shots. Hopefully Steve will chime in on this thread, he can give you specific information.

I have a 1st generation HDD in my target QB.  It's basically a wedge brake that arrests the hammer from bouncing by capturing the cocking pin in the slot in the tube.  It has worked flawlessly for several years.  I also have a FFHDD in my new CO2 Plinkster.  As I understand it, it arrests the spring before the hammer contacts the valve stem, allowing the hammer to rebound without spring pressure behind it.  This too has been working flawlessly, but I've only had it a few months.  Both devices have yielded roughly 30-35% more shots per cart, and consequently, both have paid for themselves.

No doubt Steve in NC, (the inventor) will chime in, but I can say unequivocally that these things work, and work well.

Being a simple man, I have a greater understanding of how the 1st generation HDD works.  The second generation FFHDD seems to rely on a little more magic, as I see it.  But they do work!  And they will pay for themselves quickly, depending on how much you shoot.

I think James and Jim have answered your question perfectly, Mitch.  What else would you like to know?

Meanwhile, thanks guys!

My questions are,

What kind of enhanced performance from one of your ffd /hhd for a 2240 ?

and

how well do they hold up ?

I have seen the stupid plastic one from AZ, their ridiculous price and no guarantee nor replacement when it breaks after a few shots.

I'm willing to give it a try, I just don't want to buy a pig in a poke.

Well, I am probably gonna have to pass. I don't know any other way of asking,

how does it hold up and what kind of enhancement to my air rifle will this do.

Thanks,

Mitch

Perfectly understandable.  Now I wonder if you'd be so kind as to indulge my curiosity by answering a question of mine.  What mod's have you already done to your 2240 air pistol?

youre better off with Steves products than most other vendors. Ive never heard of his stuff falling apart in the 8-9 years on the yellow/.most if not ALL these type of gizmos on the market are either

A. direct copies of steves product made from cheaper materials.

B. stolen ideas from steves reaserch that's been rebranded and reinvented 10 yrs later.

do the research in the archives, you will see who did the legwork on most of the " new " ideas we see today

Hello Steve, I have a 2400KT, which I have placed a frankenvalve in. Added a bulk fill and attached a Ninja bottle, regulated at 1400 psi. I get that fully automatic fart out of it. I have heard that a hhd/ffd would help. Will it ?

If the cause of the "fart" is hammer bounce (and not something else like a leaking transfer port or valve stem) a correctly adjusted FFH/HDD will eliminate it.
