Looking to attach a picatinny rail to this dove tail rail mentioned above. I have tried several types of picannity rail attachments but they don't seem to slide into the dovetail because the two screw down attachments are oversized. Anyone had any success accomplishing this task?

slide into the dovetail

Sounds more like an Anschutz UIT rail Bill. If that is the case I have used the Versapod adaptor successfully. Atlas also make a decent one but I have not tried it.

The versa pod uses a shoulder sling attachment button I believe. I will try that but the Anschutz rail I have is only about 5" long and is not set into the fore arm but secured to the forearm bottom by two 3/8 inch wood screws. I do have a versa pod some where so I will give it a try. Thanks Bill

Bill I had the same problem and just filed down the M-lock screw heads a little soes they’d fit in the Anschutz rail.                 Uj

you can make the Anschutz piece for the rail by taking a 1/2 x 1/8 inch piece of aluminum and take 1/16 x 1/16 off two edges and that's your slider

and then mount a weaver, picatinny base to it

i used a mill bit on a router table for the edge cut, a poor mans mill

or just buy one
