Sent one out for a tune months ago, having a heck of a time getting it back. I am at a loss for words.

What are we looking at? Is this the gun in preparation for tuning?

Well, it was to return home this week... Communication with the tuner has gone cold again. I just sent an email stating that I would like to pick it up on the 10th...

What are we looking at?

A computer or phone screen.

Imagine my embarrassment at having marked this "Solved" prematurely!

On topic... that's an interesting array of stuff on the table.

Was that short section of spring removed from the total length? IMHO... wow that's a lot! (not questioning anyone's judgement)

I'm just abiding by forum rules. The dude is a excellent tuner but, I think he has burned out... in the middle of my tune. I have ordered another Weihrauch. We'll see which one I get first.

But, I will try motorhead next time. FWIW, PW is only rebuilding 124's.

I think the tuner has some special springs and cuts them and fits them.

Here is a hint...

Go watch some of these videos, see if you can figure out WHO I'm mocking.

Springs are pretty simple to order, if you can spec what you want.

Anybody that wants one can order one of those springs. It's basically just a matter of whether you're comfortable in your ability to cut one down (if needed) and close up and square up the cut end.

And just to toss another name into the tuner hat, John in PA is well respected for his springer work. There are members here and on other forums who have had him tune a gun for them and are quite happy with his work.

I've stayed out of this one, but I've been watching it. No one will name the tuner in the mix, so I thought I would bring up an experience I had with one of them. Might be the guy, might not, but I stand behind my earlier posts.

This is why I don't watch mystery movies.

6 mins in I know who done it, spend the next 5 mins determining if there will be tits, if not, I'm out.

The only tits here... is the ones who ain't already solved the puzzle.

Reassuring post, thanks Jim... I am the most impatient person you will ever meet. A little reassuring goes a long way. I am looking forward to shooting my tuned R7.

Thank you

The problem with beating around the bush threads like this, is without knowing who we are referring to, ANY tuner could be perceived as THE GUY.

And that's not really fair to the "good guys".

Just say it, get it out in the air, and get it handled.

To the OP, I hope you get your gun and love it. They are nice shooters.

I refrain from naming tuner because I don't want to slam the guy. And, it would probably violate forum rules.

You said you want to pick it up on the 10th? Is he fairly close? If so, why not just go over and knock on his door? Or will you happen to be in his neck of the woods on that day, like during a business trip?

Fair in one hand, shit in the other.

There is an implication in your statement, and I'm not judging, but once a line is drawn, there are sides.

No one was comfortable calling ED out, because most of us who take on a lot of work will, at some point, become overloaded.

I've been there for the last couple months, overloaded between my own work, plus others.

Then, I had my first kidney stone. I'll ๐Ÿคฃ be ๐Ÿ˜ฃ on the floor ๐Ÿ˜ญ for the next 2 weeks, ๐Ÿบ if ya'll ๐Ÿบ need me! ๐Ÿป

Backlogs stress people out, which sometimes leads to dysfunctional behavior.

If someone here can thrive on deadlines and backlogs, PLEASE explain how.

Seriously.

Deadlines OK, but backlogs....

To some it is a labor of love, I feel fortunate to have have found some like that for this gun. I am very impatient, I should not have started this thread but, I did. I apologize to anybody that might have taken offense to any replies to this thread...

Got an email from the tuner last night, he was buttoning up the gun and will be test shooting it today. Hopefully, I will get a tracking number tonight...

It should have never came to this. A person taking money to do work owes it to their customers to be timely!!

The best in any field have backlogs and they are up front with their customers. Paul Watts used to put people on a list and when their name came up, he would notify them to send the gun.
