Just received one of the $99 Diana's from Midway. First impression is that I hate to see a company like Diana put their name on a rifle like this, The fit and finish is pretty poor in my opinion but I suppose it's decent for a cheap asian airgun. Maybe my thoughts will change after some time, and I hope they do. I'll open it up later and then do a more indepth report but so far, it's not looking very promising.
Sorry to hear about the fit & finish issues with your little Diana. Unfortunately, you aren't the first I've read of to say something like that with regard to the recent production of these guns. I have an older German made 240 Classic with the T05 trigger that I got about 10 years ago. Even though it's the German made model it had it's own quality glitches. Due to it being their bottom of the line springer and considered a "youth model", quality probably wasn't high on the priority list. But it's been a good, accurate shooter. I'm not sure when they moved the production to China but it's a shame they quit making them in Germany.
Here's a pic of my 240 Classic. The fiber optic sights came off and a scope went on (very) shortly after I got it.
I hope that you find yours will be an accurate little shooter. If it is, that can go a long way toward helping you look past the other "imperfections". And FWIW, if you have some of the 7.33gr Air Arms Falcons give them a try. Mine really likes them. ?
Lesser Diana's got moved to China after Diana sold the company and you can tell because they now spell the names instead of using numbers.
The 34 and up are still made in Germany, but even those are now changed and being called the 34 EMS, which is a cross between the 34 and 340 N-Tec rifles and sposed to combine the best parts of both into one rifle.
