Well I applied for membership at DCFS for use of their airgun range, since I’m a convicted felon that paid my debt to society and am a productive member of society I thought that they would respect me for being totally honest with them on my application an was told it should be ok. Now being a felon I’m still allowed to own an shoot airguns an archery legally . So I had other members sign my app etc. paid for the application, kept in contact with them an approximately 5 months later was denied an also was sent a letter to me saying I’m never allowed on their property ever again . I know there’s a lot of air gunners out there that have felony convictions but since then have change there ways etc and are good folk and could have joined their club an generated money for them an have good solid members but they want to be prejudiced on this matter. I also asked for their President to call me so I could have a face to face with him but he or they choose to be cowardice on this matter. Just thought I would share this with the air gunners nation , yours truly Dominick. Aka Tack1%er 484 716 9016

Dominick,

I am a past member of DCFS and shot airguns there for many years.  I am sorry to hear about what happened to you.  I suspect that many people shoot airguns and archery because they are, for some reason, prevented from owning firearms.  I also think some have been members of DCFS.  Perhaps honesty is not always the best policy.

I am a current member of FallsTwsp Rifle and Pistol Assn. in Fairless Hills, PA.  We have an airgun program which is open to all shooters so you would be welcomed at our matches.  Of course you would be expected to follow our rules but so is everyone.  I suspect that club membership might be an issue (because you need to qualify for membership with a handgun and there may be other issues as well) but you are certainly welcome to come to our air gun matches.  Check our calendar at FTRPA.org.

Unfortunately we cannot change the past and sometimes it affects us into the future.

Rick B.

Well I stand corrected I finally got a call back from the pres. of DCFS about my rejection on my answering machine, I had a charge for perhibited weapons ooooooo real scary stuff we can’t hav anybody like that I mite scare the law biding citizen gun toaters ther , what a bunch of nanny’s. I wouldn’t want to be around cop calling nanny’s like that anyway. I’m thinking maybe I should start a club for Convicted Felon AirGunners, you must be a Convicted Felon to join , what do you all think. Yours truly Dom

I too think the gun club members are being rather snooty.  I live in southern Alabama otherwise I would sorta qualify for your felons club.  Lost 2 military ranks when I knifed a fellow soldier that attacked me.

Well after much consideration and talking with others about this matter I believe that DCFS was just protecting me and them from unwanted consequences so my apologies goes out to DCFS for my harsh words on here, with respect, Dom

For the record a felon is allowed to own an operate a airgun/pellet rifle in Pennsylvania.
