I took my stock off to replace the recoil pad and a stud fell out. I got to looking and it held part of the cocking linkage together.
It looks like it should have gone threw to the other side since there is a C clip on a pin that looks like it should it in place, as is the clearance between the stock and the linkage keeps it from falling out.
Is this the way all Diana under lever linkage pins are or is this one broken?

looking at the picture it looks as you describe one C clip on one side and the stock holding it in place once its installed
nothing looks broken to me. Is there a groove on the end that does not have a C clip looks like the pin would not be long enough for a additional C clip even if it did
There is a C/E clip still on the end of what's left on the pin in the rifle.
It appears that the D34 uses a similar pin that has a C/E clip in the middle of the pin and this pin is substituted for the right one in manufacturing since they both also have groves on the end for the retainer clip but not in the middle.
If you look at the pictures you can see the pin with the clip on it and the head end with the empty hole where it is suppose to be along with the piece laying close by.
Well after closer inspection of the part that was broken My previous assumptions were wrong.
The pin broke do to a bad heat treat by the manufacturer. The two broken halves show that the metal was crystallized and undersized it broke under stress of cocking the rifle.
The pin was replaced with a custom made pin from tool steel and two C/E clips on each end.
