Bought two Crosman 2300T pistols two weeks ago.
Firstly I noted that these:
Came shipped in this:
When they could have easily come in this:
Secondly I noticed that one of the pistols leaked through the valve with the first CO2 cart mounted. That had to be sent back.
Finally I noticed that the LPA Mim rear sight included was a pretty poor fit to the Crosman breech dovetail cut. The sight looks like this:
but the fit in the dovetail looks like this:
My concern is that the iffy grub screw arrangement makes removal and installation do damage each time. You need to remove the sight in order to service the pistol as the sight covers one of the takedown screws.
A pair of shims under the sight keeps the screws from over extending, but the sight is still raised so much that it only make contact at about 20% of its surface. Not a problem on a lightly recoiling pistol, but still seems like sloppy planning.
With the shimmed sight, the pistols shoot very well with RWS Hobby pellets. When the warranty expires I will start breaking those razor sharp corners and get the creep and grit out of the trigger.
That packaging is hilarious KW, but a recycling windfall! I once also bought a 2300 with the LPA sight that fit just like your's; no doubt the quality "control" reflecting the affordability of the gun. That said, these Crosman pistols are excellent platforms for gratifying customizations/personalizations/improvements.
Any time I put the following customized Crosman Co2 pistol on a gun-show table loaded with other impressive guns, this one gets more attention than all the others combined-
