I have a Crosman 2300KT I purchased here on Yellow a few years back,  since then I have somehow broken the bolt.  I started to take the pistol down and put a new bolt in but decided it might be too much for me to do.  My question would be where would be the best place to send this pistol to have it repaired with a new bolt.

The bolt is easily replaced without a teardown.

I changed mine:

as stated not a hard job, did you buy a new bolt already if so you have to take he rear sight off and the screw under the sight and the plug in the back of the breech and slide the bolt out, of course the bolt handle would have remove already

this video shows how to replace the factory plastic breech but it does show how he puts in the new bolt and handle

Video Link

so did you break the bolt or did you break the handle off the bolt or both

that would, could make a difference on how to repair

The bolt handle got broken off when a book shelf came loose from the wall and fell on the pistol laying on my desk. I have taken the pistol apart but not sure just how some of the small pieces go back.  I have put it back together but not sure it is correct.  I would rather send it to someone and have them do the job correctly.  Not sure how much it will cost me but I do like the pistol.  I have not purchased a new bolt yet.  I am still open for any and all suggestions.

I should have watched that video before I headed off into my pistol.

the reality of the damage was a simple fix if the bolt handle broke net, even with the probe and even then you could have just reversed drilled the broken thread part in the probe out and threaded in a new bolt handle in

it sound like you took the whole breech off the tube or more

so it is going to cost you 15 to 18 bucks each way for shipping and the repair is 30 to 60 bucks in labor, plus parts needed

you could call Crosman and see if they would do the repair or they could suggest someone close to you

or you could do what your doing and fix it yourself and it appears that you have done just that but you have to confidence

the 2240 platform is about as easy to work on as a air pistol gets

if you need a new bolt handle buy one, if the probe is damaged buy one of those, get some probe O-rings and all of that can be gotten at Crosman

my email is and I would be happy to help

mlwolfram@msn.com

so it is not the end of the world broken things get fixed

Mike in Nashville -

I live in the Metro Nashville area (Antioch) and I'd be more than happy to help you with your 2300 pistol.

Just PM me if you like.  I work on these as a hobby, and the bolt replacement is very simple.

I would be glad to fix it too and it would only cost you shipping and parts.

Just another hobbyist,
