I am not aware of any company that has tried to manufacture a PCP multi-shot air pistol that has its own built in pumping system .

The Nova Freedom- Aspen Seneca does do this, but in a rifle format.  My Nova gets close to 30 FPE and is deadly accurate.

I'm surprised nobody has tried to modify the Freedom/Aspen , by cutting down the barrel length , cutting off the synthetic stock and replacing it with either a pistol grip or folding stock , to create a multi-shot pistol/carbine style PCP air pistol that has its own built in pumping system.

Even if cutting down the barrel length, reduces the FPE by 10 , you still would have 20 FPE in a pistol format PCP that is self contained. 20 FPE is plenty for dispatching small/ medium game with 50 yards.

I guess the biggest obstacle for this type of modification, would be figuring out  how to shorten the length/stroke of the pumping mechanism/arm because in its current form, it is a very long pumping stroke system.

IMHO, the next big step forward in airguns, is for a company to manufacture a fully self contained , multi shot , PCP air pistol that is similar in size to a Crosman 1322 . Such a pistol would not need to have a large air canister to hold 3000-3600 PSI, like normal PCP air rifles.  I would imagine a smaller air reservoir that holds 1500- 2000 PSI would work fine with the user having to pump around 50-80 times to get the pressure from zero to 1500 PSI which could provide 10-20 continuous shots with 10-20 FPE .

i understand your thinking but is a sawed off shotgun a pistol, i think not

buy one and chop it up, hell the pumping without a butt stock could be a fun exercise

@marflow

I think trying to compare a sawed off shotgun to a pistol vs a reduced in size air rifle to be a pistol- carbine, is a bit extreme ?

I may be wrong, but I truly beleive the airgun PCP market is dying to see something like a crosman 1322 sized pistol-carbine that is a multishot pcp with built in air pump .  No more need for seperate pcp manual foot-electric pumps.

Imagine the convenince and accuracy of such a pistol, where you pump it 50-80 times and can now go shoot game , getting off 10-20 shots with 10-20 FPE and not having to repump in between shots and the accuracy of the PCP format.   Its also nice to have the choice to repump the pistol 3-5 times inbetween shots, if the shooter wishes.

IMHO, this is the next big step/ advance in airguns . Id willingly pay $500-$1000 for something like this. Since it has been done with the seneca aspen / nova freedom in a rifle format, I am confident it can and will be done in a pistol format, eventually.

If the rifle format does it currently, and it get 30 FPE, at around 3000-3500 PSI  , I dont see why it cannot be done in a smaller pistol- carbine format and achieve 15 FPE at 1500-2500 PSI.

I am a big fan of the pump/backpack gun idea.

How about the Zoracki HP?
