Bought a replacement Chief for the one sent back . Started to chony it but it started at 1000 fps with 9.8 grain pellets and went down . I pulled the hammer spring and put a 11/64 set on it . Then ran 2 strings . The second one is about as high as I think I want to go .MarvinIMG_7755

Think you made up for a too strong striker hit to the valve at 2000psi (which gave about 15 shots inside of 4% in an pretty-much ever decreasing speed) bu going to 2200 psi (10% over listed max).

By going higher pressure, made up the " up-slope" of a typical bell curve shot graph's 4% shots that were slower than the first shot...so you ended up with about 26 4% shots, starting at #9 and ending at about #35.

I am going to leave it as is and see if the probe o ring holds up on this one . What I notice is there is no o ring leak until the psi drops to 1400 psi . The probe handle jumps but there is no leakage . I hope that if I fill before 1400 psi the o ring will last . Not what I like to deal with . But it is a $170 pcp not a $1700 pcp . Marvin

If it is like mine, it will calm down a little after 100-200 shots, shoot with fewer "speed spikes" as it smooths out....and just might surprise you with how well it can shoot.

Ignore the handle jump so long as it doesn't jump up enough to leak air...it tends to get to some folks, and can be cured, but it is basically harmless.
